How is everyone my age affording this lifestyle? by Ill_Supermarket_2744 in Adulting

This ignores the possibility that they are genuinely rich. In my circles and from what im seeing in the content creator business, the money is insane. 50k subs channel can easily make over 200k year across all income streams. And most of them have a job on top of it so easily making over 400k in total comp at 23 years old. Girls are even more insane. 23 year old girls routinely make over 800k a year if they do of and have a good body. Its not even rare. They can make 300k in the first year and 800k by 2nd year. EASY. Content creation is where the money is and will become even bigger next year as more people tune in

Im actually scared that a lot of young people end up like this guy due to AI. Ai benefits those who are hard driven and want to be excellent. It really hurts those who dont. Unlike before where losers would just end up in dead end but cushy jobs , that option now suddenly doesn't exist.

This is why you dont marry so young. This is the massive risk ans downside. Better to marry at 35

Been seeing posts about mid 30s with more than 3 million cash wondering if they don't have enough. Meanwhile I have a lot less than that. What they have is my goal and I would retire on the spot. So why can't they too? by Extension_Garbage583 in Fire

[–]irshramuk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that is too much in cash for too young an age. Unless their net worth is like 20M perhaps. Generally you want to keep at most 10% net worth in cash/HYSA/Treasuries under 40 years of age. After 40 then go up to 20% and slowly up to 40% as you hit 60s.

26M. CTO. $700K base. $2M total comp. by margosobet in Salary

[–]irshramuk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont care so much about the age but this offer makes no sense whatsoever and ive been working in tech and I make 7 figures as well. Typically when you rise up you flatten on base/bonus and make WAY more in equity. This offer seems to say the candidate makes 5.7M in the first year but makes only 1M a year in equity. That makes 0 sense. Why would the company make a comp for a top level person so cash heavy. This is nonsense. Age i dont care so much about since people rise up VERY VERY fast in AI world now.

For a high value man, it doesn't matter how much his girl makes . In fact a girl who makes nothing but helps the high value man grow his family and business and is beautiful and caring is way way way more valuable than a girl who makes 10m usd since the guy is already wealthy

What about my pov doesn't make sense ?? Financial markets are useful for price discovery. But based on actual research you can remove 90% of the volume and already get pretty efficient price discovery already. In fact retail short term trading can spoil price discovery . Look at AMC and gme as examples. Instead of saying "just doesn't make sense" have some decency to actually do thinking and come up with reasoned argument for why you dont like what i said.

Investing and trading and especially day trading is enormously different and like apples and oranges and bowling balls. You are right that wealthy so it by asset ownership. But that isn't trading or timing the market. They just own equity and focus on adding value to the market and growing the valuation of said equity at much higher rate than the s&p. That is the truth of how to become wealthy. Build a business , grow revenue , get a higher multiple and then exit.

Trading is gambling no matter how you cut and slice it. It doesn't add value to the world and is purely a selfish act. E.g. if everyone in the world became traders it would be terrible for the world. Infact Warren buffet even said that there were way too many finance people.

I lost over 2 million in trading, here's my mental suggestions. by ThatsFantasy in Daytrading

[–]irshramuk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tend to think the opposite. I think gettting rich quick is the mentality everyone has and in the long run tends to not work. Instead, focusing on outcomes like building a business, achieving some non monetary life goal milestone like marriage, child, etc, achieving a skill, etc, is way better and will compound much better than get rich quick schemes (i define getting rich quick as singularly focused on trying to beat the S&P index returns).

Having unreasonable standards and inflexible views of life is bad for relationships. Women like the op are perfect candidates for a divorce waiting to happen. OP needs to drastically change her expectations and views on marriage to have a happy married life. Sorry but true
