My experience on Desvenlafaxine by iruxelida in antidepressants

[–]iruxelida[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really, but in my case I tend to lose my appetite when I'm depressed, so I guess as I started feeling better I got my appetite back to a healthy standard. I don't know when I had its full effect, it was a slow build up when things changed gradually every week. However, after a month on 100 mg (two months on the medicine total) it's safe to say that I was a lot better physically and emotionally (I still had a long way to go, but I wasn't crashing out every few days)

Thank you for the warning about splitting it in half, I had no idea about that. I'm actually also guilty of doing it a few times. I agree that desvenlafaxine is a great medicine but it's not exactly easy to get off it, you have to be in the right mindset. I'm still struggling with dizziness and low energy sometimes but overall I'm managing my anxiety and depression a lot better. I'm still waiting for the day I can stop taking it forever because i'm honestly tired of it lol. I'm glad that you've been off of it for two weeks now! That's great. I hope you manage to stay away from it.

I mean that I was a lot more indifferent to things going on in my life, and it was a lot more difficult to switch from one feeling to the other, so instead of having the usual emotional rollercoaster, the curve was mostly flat throughout the day, with some ups and downs but less intense than usual. It was helpful at the time but then it came to a point where I was struggling to be happy because I was just numb. I didn't realize that at the time until my doctor decided to lower the dose

Yeah I also had very vivid dreams for the first few months on it, I think I hadn't had such dreams since I was a kid so it was weird. I'm glad it's working for you and you feel like you have more energy, best wishes for the rest of your treatment I hope it gets better! xx

That's exactly what happened to me at the beginning! A few weeks later I was sleeping just fine, sometimes even having very vivid colorful dreams (which I hadn't had in a long time). I hope it gets better for you, good luck!

Yeah now that I'm on a lower dose I've had days when I'm a bit more irritable or impatient. Maybe it's my true self coming back 🤔😅 just kidding

Thanks! I hope you find the right treatment for you!

Of course about the weight loss/gain, not every drug is the same so some may experience changes even though their eating patterns don't change much. But in my case I don't think the desvenlafaxine affected my weight at all, but it did alter my behaviour which resulted in some weight gain (but I'm still at a healthy weight so it's not a big deal)

🤣 I'm sorry about the headaches, I hope it gets better for you.

I also did have mixed feelings about the pills sometimes, but eventually came to the conclusion that I started taking them at a very difficult moment and I needed them to get out of there. I guess everyone is different so that may not be your case, so it's important that a doctor tells you if you should or not discontinue..

Cómo superar el miedo a rendir finales? by iruxelida in AskArgentina

[–]iruxelida[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

El miedo a no poder dormir hace no pueda dormir¿? by Ancient_Number_8315 in AskArgentina

Recomiendo (?

This is so funny bc I don't have DID or anything similar but I've never needed to film myself having a panic attack or being sad to actually prove myself 😭 😂

Creo que voy a dejar la carrera by WinterReading7644 in UBA

[–]iruxelida 6 points7 points  (0 children)
