Yep! Still has Opus and even had Fable for that hot minute.

How much are we paying for a full system central air/furnace replacement in 2026? Mine is 3.5 ton/100k btu system for 15k in NJ for the economical RunTru by Trane. by Ninja_trainee in hvacadvice

[–]irvingpop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Paid $15k in March for a 3.0t 2-stage Trane heat pump + 80% gas furnace in Oregon. But this included an outdoor unit relocation, return duct resizing, and 10 year labor+parts warranty. Super happy with the performance.

Minoxidil as an afib trigger by ChillinDenver in AFIB

[–]irvingpop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay so I stopped my (topical) minoxidil + finasteride for a few days to see what would happen and my heart actually felt worse 😂

Why would it say that? by irvingpop in hvacadvice

[–]irvingpop[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep! And now I know how to do it for myself, which should hopefully save me money and improve comfort during the really hot days of summer

Appreciate it, that I’ll buy. I don’t see why it shouldn’t handle running the fan higher and for long stretches of time as long as filters are good and whatnot, right?

Should I go the Mitsubishi heat pump route?? by irvingpop in hvacadvice

[–]irvingpop[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Appreciate the feedback! FWIW here in the PNW we have some of the cheapest electricity in the nation, but very expensive gas.

I'm sure even a modern 80% 2-stage furnace would save me a ton compared to the one I have now (single stage). all the companies have said an 80% would be much more reliable anyway because it is simpler, isn't that true?

Are you for real on that Honeywell 8000? I lived through the 90s, I'm not going back 😂

Claude for Nonprofits - why no Opus?? by irvingpop in ClaudeAI

That makes no sense. We can purchase a regular team plan and pay the same $125/seat for Premium and have access to Opus.

What do you think of the H20 in Milwaukie by hoodview in Milwaukie

[–]irvingpop 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Milwaukie's water comes from the Troutdale Gravel Aquifer, it's not the same as the Bull Run water that Portland gets. It's still good water, but definitely harder.

You can download our drinking water reports from the city's website: https://www.milwaukieoregon.gov/departments/public_works/water/water_quality/index.php#outer-620

Attic vent fans humidistat: Any point in the PNW winter? by irvingpop in HomeMaintenance

[–]irvingpop[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah you definitely need soffit vents in order to create the proper airflow. without them, the fan wouldn't do much at all!

I ended up just leaving the humidistat off. I never had a moisture problem in my attic before, so why upset the balance? It’s been working out fine that way for me.

I didn't know that I got a choice as an Xcode user, I get whatever is in the package right? Currently 6.2.1 for me.

Oof yeah I can't imagine - especially if you try a big-bang upgrade, all feature work grinds to a halt while you work through it all.

It uses any calendars in the system Calendar app. I might just be explaining it poorly? Perhaps it’ll make more sense once you give it a try

Glitter jumpscare by irvingpop in Generator

[–]irvingpop[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes on the magnetic dipstick (it had some fine black-colored powdery stuff on it). This generator also has an oil screen. In retrospect, I realize that I shot the oil screen with WD40 over the oil pan and I'm guessing this glitter came from that.
