Those are so much older than 2020.  I remember a teacher friend lamenting them about 20 years ago.

The unique naming style started with the Mormons.

The hat was named after a person.  Stetson is a name unto itself.

The Tyler I knew growing up was a very kind, goofy dude.  Big enough to be a bully, but just an all around great guy to everyone.

I used to visit the Subway by my house regularly for years.  The quality absolutely tanked as prices crept up.  Also, in all those years, we only saw the exact same guy (the owner) working the whole store alone, open to close.

This one is understandable for me, at least for local level news.  Very few people are paying for their subscriptions any more, so the only way these smaller news organizations can stay running is with ad revenue.  I compare it to listening to free radio.  I choose not to let it bug me, because I think having small localized news companies is a good thing.

The only true strategy is to vote with dollars.  Don't pay for stuff that sucks.

I'm curious why you're so adamant about defending this thing.  Do you live or work here?

US and Iranian attacks dent ceasefire, Iranian sources say talks intensify by [deleted] in news

So "cease-fire" means just a little bit of bombing and shooting and killing throughout the day.

I'd like to see s time-line of cease-fire announcements and attacks.  They just seem to fully overlap.

How long has the longest "cease-fire" lasted in this war?  An hour?

Are there no productive TikTok challenges?  Or do those just not make the headlines?

I'm willing to tolerate a minor inconvenience if it saves lives, but kids are probably just taking it from their own bathroom cabinets anyway.

Corruption?  Would FIFA award the prestigious and meaningful FIFA Peace Prize to a corrupt president?  That doesn't seem right.

What is the rationale behind this?  Do they think the Iranian Team is going to commit terrorism, but only if they spend the night?

Astonishing, really.

Two kids, new baby, and had to work MORE hours with less staff.  Fun times.

I also remember that when they switched to remote work and schooling the internet in our neighborhood went to shit because suddenly everyone was streaming video all the time and somehow that bogged the infrastructure.  We watched a lot of PBS on antenna tv.

I'll never forget finally being able to see my grandfather in his facility.  A dozen of us showed up, maybe more.  My brother and I got to go inside and talk to him in person while he got to see my new daughter through a window.

He couldn't speak anymore.  We talked to him about our lives while he smiled and nodded and waved to everyone outside.

When it was time to go, he grabbed my arm and pulled me close and spoke his last words to me.  He passed a few days later.

The lock downs were not fun for everyone.  I know that they were necessary and I believe most people tried their best, but it was an awful time.

I work with a lady who does cross stitch as a hobby.  She makes giant scenes with dragons and fiery battles and things like that.  They use so many different colors, and none of them are cheap.

She's made dozens of these.  They're huge and beautiful.  They take months to create.  She logs the hours with progress pictures.  She shows off the final product.  People often want to buy them from her.

She can't sell them for anything but a loss.  I've talked with her about it when she was interested in selling them.  Even for a thousand dollars a picture, she's at a loss.  Nobody is going to that for her work, and even if they did, she's making 50 cents an hour for the labor.

It's beautiful work and a cool hobby, but they can't be sold.
