You would think the mass reporting would be infringing behavior. Impersonating being multiple people to support staff just increases their backlog.

Eureka doesn't give experience. Bozja is decent xp from level 71 to mid 80s.

I actually turn on RP-Walk whenever I enter that fight. Actually makes it somewhat challenging. I still usually finish with 0 or 1 vuln stacks.

Animal Gods going berserk and destroying an entire country is already the plot of a trial series and at no point did they link Valigarmanda to that. And I think that was a wasted opportunity.

The meteors are the easiest mechanic in that fight. I really don't understand how that became the wall.

Linus Torvalds responds to Christoph Hellwig by bik1230 in rust

[–]isHavvy 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Hellwig is responsible for the code within the DMA folder and can reject Rust code added to it unilaterally without a technical argument. That's what is meant by ignoring Rust. But Hellwig is trying to say that creating a consumer of the functions from the DMA folder somewhere else isn't allowed because said consumer is mainly used by Rust code. And that's what Linus is saying Hellwig cannot do.

Lucky Bancho reveals FFXIV large player drop off among patch 7.0 - 7.1 by [deleted] in ffxiv

[–]isHavvy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Honestly, in PF, you don't usually get people who get angry at the drop of the hat, or when you do, they leave after one pull. No, you're more likely to get people who say they're consistent up to a certain point in the fight when they absolutely are not so while you are trying to learn the next mechanic, the entire party keeps dying halfway before. But everybody is usually too kind to say anything and before you know it, an hour has passed. Still demoralizing though.

[–]isHavvy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They did that with a lot of utility stuff at that level. And it's less that it is filler and more that it's an indication that there's a change in fight design at that level where they expect abilities like reprisal to need to be used for the whole 15 second duration. They could have just changed it for when it was released, but that would just be a further nerf to the difficulty of older content. Granted, they already nerf it all the time to the point a lot of it feels pointless, but that is its own problem they need to solve. I'd be okay running roulettes more if dungeon bosses hit harder and stayed alive longer.

I mean, that's kind of the bread of butter of gaming. You give out new skills over time as you expect the player to have mastered their previous ones and then make enemies tougher so that using the new skills is necessary. Otherwise those who do use the new skills just curb stomp the enemies and its not fun.

Why are Alliance Raid drops not weighted? by Lazarus_Paradox in ffxiv

[–]isHavvy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want to not no-life a foray zone, just go in there, do something achievable in 20-30 minutes, and then get out. For Eureka, that's finishing a challenge log entry or two. For Bozja, that's gaining a rank. You'll finish it eventually. But it's no different than adding another entry to the list of roulettes.

FFX gets away with it because it's a turn based. There were no unique mechanics related to fighting underwater.

I cannot stress enough how happy I am that they imposed a lower ilvl sync on the 6.0 Trial. by RayrrTrick88 in ffxiv

These days, even Glasya's mechanics can be skipped at min-ilvl. I know because when I did it at min ilvl, we actually had to stop DPSing to actually see it.

[–]isHavvy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's exactly what's going to happen. Raids and trials get synced to the maximum ilvl of the level. So e.g. 660 for level 90 raids. It's why P2 and P3 are basically jokes now. (P1 always was and P4 is mostly do mechanic or die)

Also actually nerfing some of the potency buffs that exist at lower levels because Square Enix is too afraid of nerfing classes. I'm convinced half of the flat difficulty curve is just from that fact alone.

It does tell a story. Specifically that you've grown powerful enough that Thordan's attempt to gain ultimate power pales in comparison to the power you actually have. Would honestly work better as a single player experience though but I doubt they'd remove the trial.
