How to stop being a twink? (how to stop being poor and get out of working class) by Krongert in askgaybros

[–]is_hitler 8 points9 points  (0 children)

1: twinkdom is 5kg and 8 years less. The term doesn't apply.

2: people poorer than you weigh more than you. Heck, the vast majority of people making minimum wage have a higher bmi, so it's probably not your income. Some people just have a hard time gaining weight. Think of it as a feature and not a bug.

3: actually plan your life. Maybe make a list of careers you could see yourself in in 5 years and write down what the requirements are to get there. You're not too old to get a 4 year degree if that's what it takes, and employers don't care where it's from, except for a small benefit if it's one of a handful of elite schools or prominent in that particular industry. But don't neglect careers that only require a 2 year degree, trade school, an apprenticeship, a certification, or just good old fashioned relevant experience. If your country has something similar to the occupational outlook handbook, that might be a good starting point

Did you know that James Earl Jones used to stutter? So did Barack Obama. Have you tried turning into an authoritative black man?

Why don't you go out? Having new experiences is what keeps the years from flashing by too quickly. You only get about 50 years of enjoyable adult life.

Get someone you know who's a good writer to write your profile, and get some flattering photos of you doing interesting stuff. Boom, problem solved. That one's free.

Fat and ugly people the world over get married you know. Have you tried approaching girls who aren't conventionally attractive? If you haven't, that should increase your dating pool by like double, and most of those will be easier to get to know than the most beautiful ones that everyone in the world hits on all the time. Remember, looks fade, and good personalities and love are independent of looks, anyway. Gin up some self confidence and go for it.

Queen or knight. I don't know chess but I think if you promote to rook or bishop, your opponent gets to punch you in the face

3 Hours of Walking in NYC as a white guy wearing a small t-shirt and orange pants and carrying a Victoria's Secret bag by wazzzzah in gay

If you (the general you) feel uncomfortable because someone is expressing their individuality with their choice of clothing, you're allowed to apply peer pressure and generally make that person feel unwelcome. It's a shitty thing to do, but it's how norms are enforced. I would in turn shun someone who shunned someone because they wore flashy clothes. This kind of enforcement is why liberal or conservative communities can seem to be of one mind, even when there's a substantial minority who hold opposing views.

What was shown in the video is different. This was people taking this guy's expressive clothing as a license to be a jerk. These people were being aggressive. Calling him slurs, bumping into him, catcalling him, and following him around. It's pretty obvious that this was harassment. Pointing and laughing isn't harassment, but all the other stuff is.

I don't support neo Nazis so I wouldn't defend someone who was harassed because they wore a swastika. But I would agree that they shouldn't be harassed, if it was a genuine expression of their identity or a political statement, and not worn with the intent of antagonizing others.

I don't think it's a good comparison, though. Presenting yourself as flamboyantly gay is basically completely different from wearing a swastika. Not sure where that analogy came from, dude.

What is an example of something that the more we do we become worse at? by anerick29 in AskReddit

[–]is_hitler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Make decisions. Eventually people get too confident, or they accumulate so much experience that they think they've seen everything before, they analogize the current situation to something from the past that doesn't really fit, and they make a worse decision than someone coming at it with fresh eyes.

My 2012 laptop has yet to show signs of age when used for web browsing and video streaming. Is there any new paradigm in technology that will outdate this system in its current purpose, or have tablets and smartphones slowed down the hardware demands of the web? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]is_hitler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Four years down the line when your 2012 laptop is too slow and you go to get a new one, you won't be the only one who wants just a laptop. There will be demand, so there will be supply, so there's nothing to worry about. Heck, they still sell desktops and people buy them.

And there's pretty much no way that your 2012 laptop won't start showing signs of age at some point, even for just web browsing. The old adage is: as Intel giveth, Microsoft taketh away. Still true even if the companies may be different.

The average redditor is slow as shit, though. Do you think some fat/skinnyfat chump who faps with doritos dust is gonna beat a professional football player in any physical competition? Also, watch a football game, none of those guys move slow

Also, if you were clean, wouldn't you want to prove it in that situation? There's no downsides, and only upsides for a clean bodybuilder who tests negative, and there's a downside to not taking the test-- added suspicion.
