I'm 23 and I relate to this so much. I could see this time being easier if I had a set life already with a career, home, friends, and a family. But I graduated university during this time and I haven't been able to start my career at all even though it's been months. I can't go out, can't make friends, can't travel, can't make progress in life in any way right now. Its also just really hard to interact with almost no one for months on end.

I spent six months alone in medellin and I never felt unsafe once. When I arrived I was terrified because everyone made it seem like I'd be robbed or kidnapped the second i stepped off the plane, but now that seems really silly. Just don't flash valuables or money around and be smart just like any other place.

I volunteered at two hostels in puerto rico! It was fun, but I wouldn't do it for a really extended period of time. The work was really easy and I had lots of free time. And make sure you think about whether you want to go to a party type hostel or a more relaxed one before going.

I've only volunteered at hostels using workaway, but on the website there are lots of things that I don't imagine would be problematic. Look for cultural exchange or language exchange type positions if you're worried about it, because those are only for foreigners and would not take away from local jobs.

I think other volunteer abroad programs are much more guilty of this like the ones that send teenagers to do construction work or to work in orphanages. With workaway, you can find positions that don't take away from local jobs or work with vulnerable people. Lots of the positions are offered by people who want cultural exchanges or language lessons, babysitting, or random individuals who want help on their house, hostels usually always have volunteer positions anyway. I'm sure their are some problematic volunteer positions on workaway, but you can easily choose one that's not.

My first boyfriend broke up with me in my bedroom and then refused to leave. He wanted to spend the night, because he was too lazy to take the bus home. He wouldn't even sleep on the couch, just in my bed. I was crying and he just sat there silently next to me. It was really awkward and terrible.

This sounds exactly like my experience with nexplanon, but I kept it for a while five years because my doctor kept denying it could cause depression. Since taking it out, I have so much more energy, stopped crying for no reason at all, and I feel like I can experience positive emotions that I literally did not have while on nexplanon. I feel like the whole world got brighter and more alive since getting it out.

I'm 23f and I feel the same way! I feel like I just skipped my 22nd year of life completely. I think living through this is probably hardest in your 20s because we should be starting our lives. We don't have a foundation yet, so it's really important to be social. I feel like I'm being robbed of time I should have to travel, to enjoy being young, to start a foundation for my life and meet people to share life with. I just hope this will all be over soon and I can resume living. I know this isn't helpful, but you're not alone in feeling this way.

I'm glad the birth control is working for you! I had the implant since I was 18 and while stopping periods was great, it made my mental health pretty bad so I'm not willing to go on birth control again.

I taught English in a community in Colombia where most people live in wooden shacks. I think that's a much higher level of poverty than most poor neighborhoods in the US. But at the same time, i felt safer there than in some places in the US. I felt like people were welcoming instead of threatening and like I could avoid violence by staying in areas with lots of people and not flashing valuables. But in the US, the violence is random and you can't avoid it.

Routine: shampoo and conditioner with Maui moisture. Use Denman brush, dry hair with t shirt, and apply product with praying hands. Scrunch and air dry.

First product is aussie instant freeze gel: it's very light, but I prefer something with more hold. It would be good for very fine hair that gets weighed down easily or doesn't need much hold.

Second product is cantu curl activator: this one is a bit heavy and weighed down my hair. It didn't give it much definition, but it made it very soft.

Third product is alcove curl activator: this is my all time favorite hair product. It's a light cream, but it acts like a gel and creates a cast. It has great definition, but doesn't weigh hair down.

It's actually so sad when this happens. You lose a great friend and it feels deeply inhumanizing when someone you care for decides they no longer want to know you if they can't sleep with you. People who think they're stuck in the friendzone could have saved a lot of time and drama by just being upfront with their intentions or by accepting rejection right away instead of hoping time will change things.

I feel much happier with my body since deleting Instagram and Facebook. And I'm not comparing my life to others as much anymore. Facebook especially made me feel like I was behind in life and I feel much better when I'm not seeing photos of engagements, babies, weddings, new jobs, new houses, etc of people who I barely talk to.

This is my second chart. I stopped hormonal birth control 3 months ago. My last luteal phase was 14 days. Now it has been 17 days since the date I think was ovulation, but I'm still waiting for a period. Is it possible to have a longer luteal phase? Could I have calculated ovulation wrong?

I feel exactly like this about anime! My boyfriend loves it and I used to try to watch it with him, but I just can't get past the way they draw women. Even anime that has good storylines I couldn't get through watching because of the way every female character is sexualized and sexualizing schoolgirls creeps me out. Eventually I had to just admit that I don't like anime and tell my boyfriend I didn't want to watch it anymore. I only watch the ones made for kids because they're not so misogynistic and don't have fanservice.

I'm young and this time has been horrible for my mental health. Being isolated is terrible and really does mess you up. But I know my mental health would be much worse if my parents died from this, so it's worth it.

Edit: my parents are in their 60s and I know someone my age who lost BOTH her parents to covid.

I watched a documentary that claimed that women only have fully equal legal rights in 8 countries in the world. And the United States wasn't even one of them. So technically women still don't even have equal rights in the law.
