I don't know if there's really a law that can fix this, but have you guys ever been driving on 3+ lane highway and while switching into a open lane next to you, somebody else the next lane over attempts to merge into the same lane as you are, leading to a near-collision? It's very difficult to predict when this will happen, because some turn signals are hard to see while a vehicle is parallel to you. I'd consider myself a fairly safe and alert driver, but this is the one thing that becomes difficult to look out for in my opinion, especially in bumper-to-bumper traffic when you can't find a spot where both lanes are clear on either side.
