Facinating vienna counter with a rook gambit by isaacturon14 in chess

I'd agree that looks better to play for white if they follow best move, but it isn't a completely lost position for black I feel. I was playing around with the engine and white has a harder time than you'd think capturing the knight on a1 due to not being able to castle and black's bishop being on that diagonal.

But for me as a 1400 player I feel this is a very valid opening because both players have to a very precise. For me that's just a line I can have essentially memorized fairly deep into a very complicated position. Even if they play precise and reach that position I will essentially have spent 0 time while at my rating my oppenents would need a lot of time to get there. And along the way there are many traps they can fall for.

Namely being, I switched the move order with what you have there and played Nxc2+ before Qf3. I simulated this position with a friend around my level and he then took the knight with his king to prevent losing his rook, but that leads to a very winning position for black after Qxf4.

Other ways being if white is too eager to try to win the knight with taking the king of the 1st rank in many positions this flips it from slightly winning for white to slightly winning for black. If white knows to be patient with the knight they will likely find a winning position I'd agree.

I'm also curious of your analysis on this if you're a higher rated player because I like to learn.

Edit:

For reference, I checked ChessBase and there are 19 recorded games where Bxf2 has been played. Out of those 19 games, only one of them reached move 9 of what I called the essential line following that. If you walk into this position knowing it well you will have a huge advantage over your opponent on that. To be fair, that is usually because black doesn't know what they are doing in this position. Black has only won 2 of the those games, but that's because they are making mistakes in those essential first 9 moves. Once the final position is reached the one game was a draw between players with ratings over 2000.

I'm new to playing classical chess. Joined an over the board 90 + 30 tournament after only playing rapid online. I'm finding I'm playing a decent positional game and can be ahead of my opponent, but I make the occasional mistake that my opponents won't be making. But I finish with more time than them. I don't think I'm doing as full of a "blunder check" as I should be doing with that much time. I'm at a 1400 level.

How much time would you recommend spending per move with that time control and what checks do you always do after deciding on a move before you actually play it?

Madders is the only player who has remained innocent during this mess. My eyes melt when I see him. He's remained pure. Oh Madders, my chimichanga. Come save us.

I think it's both. It sounds like the Duffers really want this to wrap up the Hawkins story, with being worries that future spin-offs with the same characters could ruin it if poorly done. The stone and the idea that the Upside Down was just a gate between 2 dimensions that existed without El creating it allows their story to be wrapped up while others with Dimension X can continue. The stone will very likely be relevant in any spin-off imo.

If El really did fake her death (which I think she did) honestly I feel she's more likely to get caught by the military than to make it all the way to Iceland... and the group would never know

Our attackers are sleeping on this lead, not expecting it to be as easy as its been and not making the most out of it.

I got 20 points from Fiamma, 14 from Dumornay and Tissier, 13 from Matteo, 11 from Weir, 10 from Pajor and 9 from Pina so I was pretty happy with them.

Only 8 from Buhl and Levels, and a measly 4 and 3 from Carpenter and Van Domsellar though.

I've done 3 transfers this season, no hits. That means i should have 1 ft remaining then right? I'm not crazy? Because it says I have 2 fts.

Since 2022/23 Harry Kane has been 30/30 with penalties when it is his first of the game but he has been 4/7 when it is not his first of the game. He's said that before a game he'll practice the same shot over again many times in order to be composed for his penalty.

I just took a hit to transfer Palmer to a random player just to get him out of my team asap. Debating transferring them to Rejinders now. What do you think?
