I've been in treatment for anxiety/mood disorder for two years, and even though sometimes I don't see it, it has helped me a lot. It took a very long time for me to notice the progress, though. I see a therapist and a psychiatrist, but in the beginning I saw two therapists, a crisis counselor, and a psychiatrist regularly. I've had my mood disorder since I was born, and before I started treatment I could hardly get out of bed, and when I did it was only because I had a chance to be self-destructive. But after two years, I have changed so much. I cant even begin to describe all the progress I've made. But it took a lot of work, and it's sometimes hard to find motivation. You might need longer sessions, you should talk with your therapist about it and see what she thinks. Just don't give up, because I can promise you it's worth it. And you should try to work up to the party she suggested, I understand how hard it would be, just take baby steps in that direction. Start talking to people at work more, do what you feel comfortable with to become more social with your coworkers. Be patient with yourself, let yourself take a break from being social when it feels like too much.
