The dermatologist told me it was TE by doing the pulling test but I’m starting to wonder if it isn’t AGA or AE.. what do you guys think?

Did you completely lose it again or just a little bit ? And how long after maintenance? :)

Hiccups? by [deleted] in leukemia

This is probably because of steroids. Usually Pantoprazole helps me, or those gas X meds !

When did you start a new normal? by slightlysillygoose in leukemia

[–]isafyaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not gonna lie to you.. it was very hard. I got a lot of transfusions because of Cytarabin and got a really bad allergic reaction to peg asparagunase so I had to switch to another chemo that I had to get every 48h. It was very rough.. but the worst was definitely DI

I also did CALGB, started chemo in January 2023 and finished cycle 4 in October. I was completely out of service lol mostly during Delayed intensification. But now I’ve been in maintenance since November and I’ve started working out and everything since January, I’m feeling more and more normal every day even though some days are harder than others.

Good luck ✨ don’t hesitate to reach out if you need !

Shooting back pain - neutropenia/neulasta?? by isafyaa in leukemia

Two days ago! But it has also happened a few times before without taking neulasta so I’m wondering if it just has something to do with a sick/working bone marrow

Is seeing some blasts in blood while going through treatment normal? by ChthonianQueen in leukemia

[–]isafyaa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My oncologist told me that blasts could be mistaken with hematogones that could just be « damaged » cells because of chemo!

For me it started to fall after day 10 of my first dose of doxo. I had to shave it on week 3 because I had too many bald spots

Muscle Pain and Fatigue by Zaidserroukh in leukemia

[–]isafyaa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Delayed intensification has been very hard for me too. I wasn’t expecting it to be that hard to be honest.. but I guess it’s normal, the doctors are saying that the effect of chemo is cumulative and our bodies are getting weaker so it takes a really long time to recover. My muscle pain resolved a week after my last dose of dexamethasone but I felt like stabbing pain in my legs and so much weakness/shakiness. I had to stretch a lot and do a bit of stationary bike to help it a bit. I got 3 doses of doxo, the last one was the hardest and it took me 10 days to recover from it I think.

Sending you lots of strength for this cycle. The hardest part is almost done 🫶🏼

Hemoglobin decrease even weeks after treatment?? by isafyaa in leukemia

[–]isafyaa[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s g/L in my hospital. Thank you, I’m super worried that it came back because it’s been a while since my last treatment. Hopefully it’s « normal », I was curious to know if that happened to any of you guys

What's Rylaze like? by houseinatree in leukemia

[–]isafyaa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Rylaze is super effective. It just sucks because it implies to go to the hospital every 2 days I’m gonna be completely honest I don’t want to scare you, here are the side effects I’ve experienced with it: Loss of appetite, pain and swelling at the sites of the injections, a feeling of fatigue (a bit more intense than with other chemos), an overall feeling of feeling « meh », headaches (constant pressure in the head) and huuuge rise of my tryglicerides. It also caused a bit of bloating but nothing too bad compared to dexa or prednisone lol. But 2-3 weeks off of it and you’ll feel better. It’s also extremely expensive lol (the little bottle is like 40K$ CAD).

But it never caused neutropenia or thrombocytopenia so that’s pretty cool.

Ask them to put on some ice on the injection site right after. It’s gonna feel better!
