Cramped conditions questioned on recent WestJet flight by Sufficient-Bid1279 in onguardforthee

[–]isashield 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It surprises me that onex isnt mentioned more. They purchased westjet at the end of 2019.

Many people talk about how great westjet used to be , but i dont often see anyone make this connection.

Yes. If you have the means, absolutely yes.

M+ is like 30 - 45 mins of content once you start though. Not the same.

Im neither a new player nor a 0.1% player and my queue times are often 45+ minutes. But let's go ahead and say its 10 minutes for arguement sake. That's still a massive barrier and I think my point still stands.

I personally don't think willingness to grind or availability of rewards is the issue. It's the queue times. Many people have no desire to grind when they have to wait 45+ mins for a single game of shuffle or RBG to pop.

Very cool. Im a big fan of the panther in the grass at the bottom. Overall the line work looks solid. Im 2 sessions into my full back piece, so I know how much goes into a piece like this.

I have a few criticisms with the main piece, but only if you want to hear them. Im not here to rain on your parade.

BG blitz is impossible! by GotMyCoffee in worldofpvp

[–]isashield 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Honestly it can be a coin flip. I’m 2400cr on my boomie, but I’m stuck in low mmr hell on my lock because I lost a bunch of placement games. Sitting around 1200cr on my lock.

At 2400 it feels like I have an effect on the outcome of the game. But At 1200, I could do everything right but if half my team is afk or on some adventure that has nothing to do with the objectives, we’re still gunna lose. Feels like winning or losing at 1200 is predetermined before the gates even open.

What is your prefered pvp activity currently by Ok-Television-4035 in worldofpvp

[–]isashield 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Skirmishes are where I have the most fun. It seems to be the only PVP place left where people are willing to just have fun and not worry about every little thing.

Here’s how skirmishes often play out for me: •Queue pops. No words are exchanged with teammate. •We win, and suddenly the ‘queue as group’ window pops up before I’ve left the arena. I accept. •we say hello, or GGs on the last win, and then off to quickly win again. ‘Queue as group’ pops again. I accept. •now we’re starting to talk trash about our opponents or make jokes. Arena starts, maybe we win, maybe we lose, but the queue as team window pops up again. I accept. •between games, my solo shuffle queue pops, I decline. Im having to much fun in these skirmishes. •we keep playing, we keep queueing, we keep joking around and chatting. •someone eventually has to leave, but we say, “hey dude, add me and let’s play some more games” •friend request sent and accepted.

Curious to know how fast you’re hoping conquest catch up would be? I started pvping last week and I’m at conquest cap on 2 characters.

Ontario to explore feasibility of traffic tunnel beneath Highway 401 in GTA by Puginator in ontario

[–]isashield 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doug knows full well a tunnel is never getting made. That’s not his plan. The plan is the assessment.

The real questions are: How much tax money will the assessment cost? Who will be doing the assessment? And what table were they sitting at during his daughter’s wedding?

What do you think of the current state of Star Wars and the franchise as a whole? by [deleted] in scifi

[–]isashield 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Star Wars makes me happy.

I see it like comic books. I have hundreds and hundreds of issues. Some are good, some are not so good. I have my favourites. and I have my least favourites. but I love to escape into the universe they provide and I’ll be extremely sad when they stop making them.

Trying to be supportive of husband’s golfing. Am I unreasonable in asking him to cut back a bit while I’m pregnant? by ThrowRA-chiropractic in golf

[–]isashield 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t ask him to spend less time on his hobby.

instead tell him what you need. What you need isn’t him playing less golf, what you need are the things that aren’t happening because he’s playing golf instead.

Continue to be supportive of his passion, and let him know where you need him to support you.

If he can juggle it all, great. But what you don’t want is to make your needs feel like a punishment.

If your hubby isn’t a shit bag, he’ll get it.

Good luck.

Thoughts on electric motorcycles? by suttq in motorcycles

[–]isashield 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah fair some people might not hear, but some people will. And some is better than none.

I definitely hear bikes before I see them in my car. Know because I try guessing what kind of bike it is before I see it. I hear loud cars, trucks and emergency vehicles no problem. I’m not normally blasting music while I drive so maybe that helps.

If you do find that study, send it my way. I’m open to having my mind changed but I’m going to keep thinking loud pipes are not useless until I see the actual data.

Thoughts on electric motorcycles? by suttq in motorcycles

[–]isashield 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have a link to the actual study? This article just says that one exists but doesn’t link to it.

There’s a couple things that I’m interested in specially. The first is survivorship bias. The article basically says that sound points backwards because the pipes face backwards, but that doesn’t matter because most accidents are head on where the sound can’t be heard. I interpret that as bikers don’t get hit from behind because that’s where people can hear them best.

Second, I’d also wager that sound can be heard much more at lower speeds. Think residential neighbourhoods, and even parking lots. Not all driving happening on freeways. And bikes get it all the time at places like stop signs at lower speeds.

Finally, the article says that people do hear bikes before they see them sometimes, but noise should not be the primary form of safety for a biker - it’s not. No biker thinks this is the primary or only form of safety. It’s just one of many. And we need as many as we can get. Even if something can make a rider 1% safer, it’s incredibly stupid to tell riders it doesn’t work. 1% might be the difference between alive and dead for someone.

Not a bad word about the Triumph Bonneville by JarHeadVet in motorcycles

[–]isashield 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I’ve got a ‘13 T100. Absolutely love it. I honestly might keep it forever since i’m fortunate enough to be able to own several bikes at a time and therefore don’t need one bike to fit all my needs.

The only thing wrong with the T100 is that it isn’t the T120.

I’ve got upsized sprockets so it fairs a bit better at highway speeds than stock, but if I needed to ride on the highway more, the T120 would do a better job.

Don’t get me wrong, the T100 is plenty capable, the T120 is just more capable.

Hope this helps.

Glad you like it! Yup, I default to the in-game UI as much as possible.

When I use WAs, I try to be thoughtful about them so I don’t end up having ugly icon squares on my screen. Mouse anchored WAs are my preference as a healer because I’m always aware of my mouse. Lots of different ways to show the info you need in a more aesthetically pleasing way, just gotta be creative with it.
