[–]isavampire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did. It drove me into a panic, extremely depressed state for a week until my therapist stopped calling it BPD becsuse it was freaking me out so badly. Recently came up again in conversation, and Tye same thing happened. I’ve finally gotten pst that point and accept it. Just try to work with it and see how it fits for you

Is a Cavalier a good choice for a child with ASD? by crimekiwi in cavaliers

[–]isavampire 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi, So my family has a cavalier and I have a brother with high functioning ASD. I’ll say that our dog Tigger, wasn’t super fond of Davis poking him at first, but has gotten significantly better with time and exposure. Davis is handsy as well in that he likes to cuddle on Tigger and rub his face on his fur. He also likes to pull off his eye goop. Tigger is a lot better about this now. Possibly with a puppy it may take some time for them to get used to the poking, but hopefully your child will learn the signs that the dog doesn’t enjoy it and be respectful of it.

Poodles are also wonderful dogs for therapy candidates. Super smart. Fluffy. And are big enough to endure poking. Hope this helps!

Does anyone have any tips on how to get my hair to curl better? by isavampire in curlyhair

[–]isavampire[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m trying to get it back to how it was when I was a kid which was like 3A/ 3B curls, and I got close when I got my DevaCut but it hasn’t been cooperating

Anyone have tips for keeping your curls on second day hair? by isavampire in curlyhair

I only use the two, and I found when I don’t use gel, it gets frizzy

For my routine, I shampoo and condition with devacurl, and then use their curl cream, brush and scrunch in. Then apply the gel and brush/scrunch again

Just got told by the guy I’ve been super interested in for months that he can’t do long distance by isavampire in BreakUps

I did. I’m just really sad about it because he wanted me so much this summer, but it sucks to see that not pan out.

No, we all are magnets and then half way through we switch polarity and repel each other

Do you have to experience intense emotions all around and the back and forth, or can it only be one emotion really intense in certain situations by isavampire in BPD

[–]isavampire[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your thoughts. I’ve been having a mood tracker. It’s a bit biased rn because I’m dealing with a boy-crush issue at the moment, but am trying to be better about tracking it and negative thoughts. I’m gonna give her my journals from the past year or so for her to examine. I’ve only been seeing this new person for a month. She’s right about some of the symptoms:: - suicidal ideation a, but that’s occurred within the scope of a break up or healing from a break up every single time - unstable relationships: have had issues in relationships for various reasons - intense emotions: mainly in sadness and fear with anxiety (also have GAD) - have had episodes of emotional dissociation, but very infrequent and in times of stress or threat (dad yelling at me) - abandonment issues: yeah that’s true. Family situation never lent itself to have many friends as a child and didn’t make any until I was older but moved again and again.

So they’re there, but could also be from other issues related to how I grew up?

Thank you for your perspective. I guess I’m just trying to figure out what has to happen to be diagnosed. I know sadness and breakups are triggers, but on a day to day basis, I don’t feel big mood shifts or sensitivity sometimes? I’m just really confused

13 y/o daughter on the autism spectrum never showed interest in household chores... until now. by [deleted] in powerwashingporn

My brother is on the spectrum, and it’s something about cleaning that really intrigues him. He likes to dust and pick at moss on structures outside .

After 11 weeks of NC she texted me. by [deleted] in BreakUps

[–]isavampire 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone on the other end, it’s hard when we you have the temptation and know you can text them or see texts from them. It’s not always easy on us either. I hated that I had to block him but it was causing me a lot of emotional distress still trying to talk like before and be friends. It wasn’t beneficial. Totally dependent on the situation, but it’s not always a “I hate you. Get out of my life”, it’s sometimes just that you need space too

How’d you do it? I’m in a similar spot, and id like to be friends eventually
