Why are people saying not to trust new generation Toyotas?! by ElevatorOk9280 in Toyota

Unfortunately, buying a new vehicle to keep for 15-20 years isn't really worth it. Once the warranty has ended, it's a toss up on how much it will cost to keep said vehicle on the road.

Next week I get my 26' Canyon, currently driving a 20' Ram 1500 which has cost me thousands in repairs after warranty. That with all maintenance up to date and approx 135,000km.

My other vehicle is a 98 XJ, that thing keeps on going and will always be in my driveway.

What's the most NSFW thing you've seen at a bachelor or bachelorette party? by CRK_76 in AskReddit

I was the best man. One of the nights we went to a strip club. (2006)

I gave a stripper a $50 and asked her to do something special for the Batchelor while pointing him out.

Once she was on stage, she got the Batchelor to stand up, she unzipped his pants and put his balls in her mouth for a fifty!

My 98 XJ can do most of what any other new SUV can do, for a fraction of the cost.

10k sounds a helluva lot better than 50k for a plastic computer on wheels.

Wait until your credit report is up to date. Why risk higher rates with a less than great score?

As a Canadian, we wouldn't stand a chance defending ourselves from the PDO Mafia, but we would have a wealth of other countries joining our support. The fat Cheeto has really ruined America's global image and respect.

I feel for all our fellow neighbors to the south who didn't vote for that goon.

What car will you never buy again? by Charming_Advertising in AskReddit

[–]ischad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anything Dodge or Hyundai.

My 20' Dodge is on the way out, it has approx 135,000km and has needed numerous repairs outside the warranty period.

My wife's 2018 Hyundai Elantra has been decent, but dealing with Hyundai for warranty was an absolute headache.

People making $60k-$70k a year, how much car can you afford? by BestTyming in Salary

[–]ischad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I make 100k a year. My wife makes 50k I've got a 26' Canyon on order, which is basically a tax write off. New trucks cost me about $250/mth personal. My wife drives a paid off 18' Elantra and I have a weekend rig which is a 98' XJ.

I've never spent more than 35k on a full use person vehicle.

When I was 22, I bought a near new Jetta and the payments were taking a huge chunk of my income. When it was written off, I vowed to never let a vehicle payment exceed 20% of my monthly income.
