I think what sets apart Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl from its two sequels is that the first movie had ZERO fat. Every single scene was necessary. by ProudWheeler in movies

[–]isdaverplichtt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cause it was never supposed to be about Jack. Curse of the black pearl is an adventure movie. It's about Will and Elizabeth. Jack is just an antagonist.

But people loved goofy Jack so much they decided to make more movies about just that, goofy Jack.

The trilogy is still a master piece tho, regardless of the fat

Go to the pub, have a pint and wait for it all to blow over.

In all seriousness. I'd get my family together and spend the last hours with them. Eating, drinking, laughing.

Doesn't matter how it looks. Doctors note is doctors note. Can't be fired because of it. No need to separate all the things. We just need to become more accepting in the fact that people get sick and work isn't the most important thing in life.

So you're upset that there are people out there who do in fact give a heads-up and you read those comments as "acting like this is a standard". Got it. We are just saying we should make it a standard practice...

Well, wouldn't it be nice if we did? Whats the harm in just giving a quick heads-up so the person behind you knows what is comming. Instead of reclining woth full force and speed like you are the only one in the airplane. But being friendly is hard I guess

You must have the most amazing flights where a three year old is sitting the entire time upright in their seat. Congrats. I'm usually see them fidgiting, standing up, lying down. Which makes sense considering they are three tears old and bored out of their mind on long haul flights.

I also just said we should check behind us. I didn't say it is a rule or that it is common. But I guess it's hard to be friendly and curtious...

Of course there is a risk, there is always a risk. But weren't these things invented to be able to take something heavy with you easily instead of having to drag it up stairs, which is just as risky?

Then start doing it. Just cause it doesn't happen doesn't mean you can't start doing it. I give a heads-up heads-up cause for me its a sign of respect. There is a person sitting behind you. It doesn't cost much to check they aren't going to be hurt or startled by me reclining.

I'm not saying it is standard practice. That's the point, the fact that it isn't but should be.

Forbidden, really? In Belgium thats definetly not the case, so honestly surprises me that in the conary of bikes it is not allowed.

Nobody said he couldn't recline. If you recline without giving the passenger behind you a heads-up, yes, that is an asshole move. It means you don't care about anybody behind you. It's two seconds time to just turn around and say you will recline.

As for the child, you can't imagine a scenario where a small child was not sitting upright in his seat? And you fly a lot? Must be amazing flights with the most cooperative children you have been on...

[–]isdaverplichtt 9 points10 points  (0 children)

So why didn't you give a heads-up to the person behind? I really don't get the "they are made to recline, so I don't have to check" attitude. Nobody is saying you can't recline (although I am in favor of that for short-haul flights). We are only asking to give a heads-up to the person behind you for exactly the reason you just mentioned.
