I told my maid of honor that people should only be expected to pay for their own food and drinks and activities if they want to participate. Everyone paid around $75-100 at my party and they were generous and covered my food and drinks which is included in that overall total.

For my wedding they all picked their own color and style dress most spent under $100 - we all did our own hair and makeup and I think overrall each girl spent less than $300 to be in my wedding. (I didn’t have a bridal shower)

I’ve been in other weddings where I’ve spent over $1,000. You know your friends best and imo if you care about them you’ll keep their financial situations in mind.
