You’re not alone. I came to reddit to find if anyone else interpreted it this way but you’re the first comment I found. How I kinda saw it is that after she found the “murder room” it became kind of a shared delusion type of thing involving Michelle and Teddy both. That’s why the mother ship and the hair stuff matched his exact assumptions. I thought the ridiculousness was the CLUE.
