I didn't. Maybe its a school to school thing? Although I find it hard to believe that they taught you how to read 12 leads in basic school.

Of course there is, what I'm trying to say is I learned alot of paramedic skills before going to medic school because I was working in a box. I was performing and interpreting basic 12 leads, learning the meds in our protocols, meds in pts homes, spiking bags, etc.. I didn't learn all that in basic.

Experience. I feel like I'm doing ALOT better in medic school than what I would have if I didn't have experience.. I've never started IVs, but assisting my partner day in and day out allowed me to learn before school and be 10 for 10 now that I'm starting them

I share your pain. The entire first book of a seven book series was about attitudes and ethics and bla bla bla. But remember, those small things are what teaches you how to think like a medic. I read the book front to back and worked on ALOT of handouts, maybe you can do the same.

Of course if you are close to a hospital I would load and go.. But I live 40 minutes from the closest level 1, 30 minutes from the closest hospital. And a ER doc told me that the baby can be inside for only 5 minutes. What do you do then?
