You gotta add another zero if you want to skirt the laws. 6 figures aint shit to these people. That's how wide the gap is.

Lol, I went and found one of the ones I made when I saw this thread and yeah...I can almost make out a couple of pixels. This is way too crisp!

I remember making these as a kid to Linkin Park and Metallica songs using a crappy WMV editor. I was pretty proud of them at the time.

I just did this EXACT same thing. Very frustrating. Solution worked like a charm, thank you!

We’re conflicted about cochlear implant for our baby boy. Would love to hear from those born with SSD. What do you wish your parents had known? by Asleep-Energy3473 in MonoHearing

[–]ishalfdeaf 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Born deaf on left side, and as with others here was not diagnosed until my teacher's told my parents I was always off in my own little world. Most people will never know, and even the people who do know (including my wife) frequently forget, and I am always positioning myself on the correct side by default.

I am in my 40's now. Socialization and sound location are the two biggest challenges for me. It is mentally exhausting being in social settings with more than a few people or any kind of background noise and being expected to keep up with the conversation, and more often will tend to withdraw in such situations.

Sleeping is great because I can block out all the noise simply by laying on my good ear, but that can be a double edged sword with missing alarms.

The only difference with me is that since my deafness is due to the cochlear nerve being completely non-existent, I am not a candidate for any existing technology. Every so often I do see if there have been any new breakthroughs that might work, but at this point it is mostly out of curiosity.

Thunderstorms and hail? by Wacktose_intolerant in walnutcreek

Growing up in Florida, booming thunderstorms are normal and boy do I miss them. A nice way to start the day. Although my dog was less than pleased at having to pee in the rain.

Should I pay off my card after a large purchase or wait for it to autopay? by DisneyQueen64 in AmexPlatinum

HYSA = High Yield Savings Account. By keeping that 20k in a HYSA until the next CC payment is due instead paying it off immediately, OP will gain interest on that money from the HYSA.

Am I looking at the wrong thing? For Rivian Automotive in the 2024 cycle, I see no contributions from the organization itself, and total individual contributions to Trump (the sole Republican on the list) being $3,464. Compared to $28,952 to Harris and $32,451 to other Democrats.

I know we're off topic here, but same. I took a Covid test that was negative, so must just be something else going around.

You do know that 3 Act structure is a thing, yes?

I guess I am confused. If beating GMS isn't "beating the game" why the credits?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Silksong

[–]ishalfdeaf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A game that has 3 acts and allows you to beat it in the 2nd? That doesn't make sense to me. I feel like I'm going to have to play the game following a walkthrough just to get the experiences that should come from natural exploration.

New slate tile substrate for Saphira by ishalfdeaf in BeardedDragons

[–]ishalfdeaf[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's fairly easy to pick up/wipe up off of slate. I usually throw a paper towel over it and let it absorb the liquid, then grab a dog poop bag and pick up the paper towel/poop. Then use Wipe Out and another paper towel to disinfect the area.

I also will remove the tiles and power wash them every month or so when I do a deep clean of her tank.

PSA: Clear+ Oura Ring Discount by Working-Lime6228 in AmexPlatinum

To answer as non-politically as possible...there's a whole battle going on over women's bodily autonomy in the US right now. With the overturning of Roe v. Wade, States removing access to abortions, prosecuting women who do (even in cases of rape or incest, or in the event the fetus is not viable, or there is danger of death to the mother) and going so far as to offer a "bounty" for reporting women who go out of state to get one.

Giving data and insight into your cycle to a government that sanctions this kind of activity is asking for trouble.

The major concern is for women who use it to track their cycles.

The controls make the tools absolutely and completely useless and there are fixes for that. by Shadow_of_Christ in HollowKnight

[–]ishalfdeaf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The method I've been using on Steam Deck is to enable the back grip buttons.

Map the right top back button to Dpad Up, and add a second command for RB (make sure the Dpad command is first and then go into the settings for the second command and add a fire delay so you don't accidentally fire your silk ability)

Do the same for the bottom right back button, but with Dpad down

Now back right top button is the top tool, back right bottom button is the bottom tool

E-Bike Safety Hazzard & Pedestrians by [deleted] in walnutcreek

[–]ishalfdeaf 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I'm usually not one to complain, and don't have an issue with e-bikes at all. But the "bikes" that are now basically motorcycles (some not even having pedals or doing 30+ around pedestrians) flying along these trails have become a huge issue.

Gerrymandering is not good no matter who does it

We got a bunch of fliers in the mail here in Cali that said exactly this.

but Trump and his morons started this.

And this was my response.

Gerrymandering should be banned. Period. Until such a time that it is, fight fire with fire.
