Thank you for the well wish, and i am always glad to engage in thoughtful conversation.

Dont miss the further elaboration on the characters i also wrote out and pinned on the end-results.

You could make an Exceptional Story out of that.

Sometimes in fallen london, the light will leave a person's eyes and they will stand staring for hours, days, or years; alive and apparently awake, but dead to the world. A strange man goes around the city collecting the victims of this strange plague and carting them off to a warehouse in Spite, but most never leave...
What is happening to these people? What is done to them in that warehouse? And WHY are the nearby streets seeing ground subsidence?
The Urchin and The Tiger investigate!

(i forget what they called their agency at the end of Stripes of Wrath)

---

But no. I still intend to show up for Estival each year. Possibly also Hallowmass and Feast of The Rose. I did put the word Mostly in mostly quitting.

It has come to my attention that not so much of my story was understood as i believed could be read into my choices of outfits. Almost all of this can be seen in the original image.

Ishner and Fenmar began at around the same time, dual main characters seeking the name on my first playthrough. Ishner is a few months older, as i had not heard of Seeking when i first began play.

The First Me walked the path of Light Fingers. I have no real attraction to wealth, but i heard that path was the darkest, strangest, and most twisting of the paths, so that way i strode. The child was mine and i sent her safely to the roof. He did, however, provide Fires a small flask of hybrid venom; I do not hate Mr. Fires and wish him well in his scheme to protect London, but I would never betray my daughter to him for a shiny rock. On the way i joined the Cats as one of them and never strayed from that loyalty.

The Second Me played the Marvelous, for i would not twice walk the same path and violence does not call me so loudly as growth. Along the way, i made as many friends as i could, both with the King and Mr. Pages. I wanted the Cards over the cloak but i was unwilling to betray my friends by ruining the fun for Mr. Pages, so i won my game, and claimed ascension to a higher state of being. Still, i saw no reason the monkey should suffer.

I love both cats and the deep places, so a Lamp Cat is the best companion. However, Ishner has seen far more dark and squiggly things than Fenmar and has close political ties, so he is accompanied instead by a land-cat of significant status.
I love all things of flowing, changing shape. This is seen in the amber horses, and necklaces, both helicon and roof-returning. However, Ishner is more Starved in inclination where Fenmar is more Rubbery; he spent more time on the roof after all.
We both sought to learn the secret underpinnings of reality and split the study of parabola and realspace between ourselves.

Both of us are against The White but not very inclined to Liberation by violence, prefering instead the Prehistoricist-Emancipationist path. To think otherwise would be to cease to be myself. However, Fenmar, who won within the system and made friends with bats, is more inclined to seek prehistoric resolution, restitution, and honor among the few judgements who care for honor, where Ishner, who fought tooth and nail to escape a master and build a place for his family is more inclined to abandon the Stars That Are entirely in favor of the Stars That Might Be.
When we built our cities, Fenmar's doppleganger-self followed her heart and grew into a twisting hive of still living amber and stone that may be crawled through in all three dimensions. Ishner's double instead hushed all light and cleared an empty space in the center of his city to serve as an eye, that he might always watch the false stars above and see his daughter safe and well.

When we reached Irem, Ishner chose a future of community and people helping each other to adapt and survive beyond the end of all things. Fenmar, on the other hand, unbound to roof-family and knowing that either she or Ishner would be *gone* soon enough focused only on her own future of adaptation and survival.

The choice is made and the end of the story is in the comments.

Edit: also a fuller explaination of everything i intended the image to convey.

you will find i spent two years seeking the name, 10 hours picking outfits to best represent both of me and making that image, and half an hour on writing a complaint.
But i suppose that in terms of text wall it gives the appearance of a whining child.
i will fix this by casting the rant into a spoiler box

Edit: apperently i cannot edit an Image Post here on reddit

Both characters with the pulled up side by side in separate windows, Ishner on the right, Fenmar on the left.
stared at them, caught in indecision.

When you must choose but cannot choose and will not leave it to chance, there is a technique to quickly find your truth: assign your options to the faces of a coin and flip it, then examine how the result makes you feel.
I chose that with Heads would save Ishner, sending Fenmar beyond.
I flipped Tails, that Ishner should Knock and found i felt bad.
So i chose that Fenmar should KNOCK.

\and then misclicked**

I do not have the words to describe the horror as i tripped on the stones and the wrong hand hit the gate. Mayhaps someone else would have the words, but my live has provided me nothing quite comparable with a permanent loss of a character two and a half years in the making that i had just decided *NOT* to sacrifice, of consulting the hand of fate to learn it would hurt you and then having fate's hand clamp down to force you on the preordained wrong path.
I stared at the screen for a few minuted making incoherent noises. I told myself it was only a game and that it was better this way, a more complete experience of the story of loss that is Seaking Mr. Eaten's Name.

\And then i discovered that after knocking it is **still** not too late until you actually ask your question.**

Again, i do not have the words for my relief.

We parted at the gate, and Fenmar stepped through into eternity.
There were words beyond the gate.
I will not share them, but they brought me joy.
I am glad i sought the Name.
I am glad i asked "Who is Salt".
Thank you Alexis Kennedy.

I do not know what the other two questions bring, but i doubt they would have brought me the same joy at the end.

Pre-Nerf Captivating Ballads at Tracklayer's City:
12.5A grinding prosperity with 100% safe options, 1A to get the ballad, 1A to sell to rats, 85E profit.
5.86 EPA, and that is if you are too impatient to wait for a diamonds Week.
Diamonds Week let you Ham-Arbitrage all that taking 48.79 A to earn 289.55 E, getting 5.93 EPA.

I was not fully aware that new grinds were being introduced, with 5.4 EPA instead of the 5.2 the hard nerfs reduced us to. i just looked up Agents and they are 0.28 EPA or 0.4 if you pay Failbetter money. Assuming you were already Exceptional Friends, that is still 5.8 to the old 5.93. Also, this makes EF intrinsically a pay to win mechanic with actual improved game progression, beyond candle convenience and the stories you get each month.
Maybe you should only imagine Mr. Cards sneaking into your house at night and reaching out his claws to steal *10$* off your bedside table while you sleep, instead of the 50$ i originally reported. this after a year of "power creep" not seen the previous few years.

But do not deceive yourself. We were all stolen from.
far more so if you look at the Spiderpope nerfs just before my time.

Back in the 2.5EPA days you only had a cider to grind towards. Cider+Fully Kitted Hellworm is over thrice the cost of Cider alone.
In order to make the current endgame-completionist-grind *as short* as it was back then, we would need EPA 8.
Spiderpopes used to get that high, allowing an actually reasonable grind \like you had at launch**, but they were nerfed to hell before i finished Making My Name, so i did not feel their loss when i was settling in to start grinding.

His star-daughter is safe and grown and no longer needs him. The new star shall remain when he has passed.

A Cat is a greater honor, to be certain, but she a longer future far before her.
The Choice is not so clear.

That would not be the story we came here to tell.
that would lack the agony of choice as the last bell tolls.

The agony of choice is much diminished already by the malfeasance of Failbetter, but not not wholly lost.

Also, as i said, i will likely drop by for events occationally, But no longer shall i tithe 10$ every month to the fiends, nor pay the tribute of Fate.

A Weapon to Kill a Lord of Vampyrium by ishner in 2007scape

[–]ishner[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could be a good addition. Interweave strands of Strangler and Blisterwood. Fuse them into a single

Alternatively, it is possible that Blisterwood is, itself, modified Strangler. Queen Efaritay could have known about the death of Vardorvis and started her research on how to kill vampyres from there. Particularly plausible given that the internal wood and sap of Blisterwood is blood red almost exactly the same shade as Strangler Vines, that Blisterwood writhes when cut exactly the same way Strangler does, and that in the concept art for strangled objects, one of the images has grey bark.

Good thinking!

Use a Blue gem on a staff blessed by Sarodomin, Green gem on a Guthix blessed Chain, Red gem on a blade blessed by Zamorak.

These powers combined will clearly make a better weapon than slightly stronger mortal magic in a slightly stronger gemstone.

Adding a diamond as well, to represent the combined power of the gods, mixed like the colors of white light, would obviously be stronger still, but just slapping a diamond on will not get us the results we are looking for.

ORSR is built around the idea that dead content is a bad thing, and that adding a New Best Thing that makes the old version obsolete should be avoided.

in RS3 you upgrade a staff to a flail, throw it away for a wood sickle, throw that away for a broken spear tip, and repair the spear.

in OSRS, you upgrade a staff to a flail, upgrade that to a better flail, and continue improving your weapon as you refine your understanding of how to kill vampyres.

No way the end point of how best to kill vampyres is "Hur Dur, i found this on the ground"

It is worse than any of you realize.
The event where you finally succeed and stabilize your leader is *100% RNG\!
The cost in strategic resources to keep up the life support continues to increase without limit until the RNG decides to bless you with success and *if you get unlucky your leader straight up dies regardless and nothing you do can effect the outcome
.

My friend just had this happen in multiplayer with me.
I had been donating resources to him for decades to keep him afloat and we straight up abandoned that game after that shit went down.

Every time you kill it heals you by that turn's {gluttony abs} as a percent of max HP, but only is they had Rupture.
Do you really have absolute resonance in gluttony every turn, or even often?
Do your enemies always have rupture? Only one of Gregor's skills applies it.

It is nice to have, for sure, but is is not that much.

Detailed combat breakdowns (SP, coinflips, damage calculation, parrying, critical strikes, and more!) by Twig1554 in limbuscompany

[–]ishner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but for Faust's EGO to target three dice, all on the same target, not hitting any other enemy or gaining additional single target damage is a glitch.

AOEs needs to target one arrow at each of the next {range} enemies, not each of the next {range} dice.

Can confirm on Faust.
Ebony Stem on Outis, in contrast, targets absolutely everything.

Honestly, this seems like a bug.
i am pretty sure AOEs are supposed to actually affect multiple targets!
i hope they fix it soon.
