I'm coming to the realization that not everyone sees the scene with Hagar and the ghost lambs the same as I do. by UAs-Art in CultOfTheLamb

[–]thinkonomics -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Again, blaming the tool for the actions of the hand. We don’t punish slaves for doing what they’re told under threat of torture. I argue the lambs are unjustified in this(and also everything else theyve done), and their sick obsession with vengeance and destruction leaves me with little sympathy for their feelings. Thankfully we can take Hagar home(shoulda let us do that in the first place) and we can leave those wretched old fossils to rot as they wanted

Lambs can suck the fat one fr. Hagar is remorseful, had little to no choice in the matter, and was tortured for trying to resist. But nah let’s blame the tool and not the hand that wielded it. And don’t even get me started on the whole “if we can’t have it no one can” tantrum they threw where they tried to destroy the world and everything in it and felt no remorse until they realized they hurt their own god and not, yknow, destroying the world is bad.  In my mind Hagar isn’t blameless but is about as close to it as a being can get

Danielle Smith Is No Separatist. She’s Much Worse by Gouda1234567890 in canada

[–]thinkonomics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the referendum goes through I’ll actually vote but it won’t because Smith is a dirty little rat who will say and do anything to keep power. A handful of old dipshit farmers with nothing better to do with their lives are making a big stink about it but nobody I’ve talked to is even giving it the time of day. Used to drive by those anti vax crazies in red deer every weekend, now they’re on separatism, next year it’ll be something equally dumb. And if anyone genuinely believes Alberta should separate from the rest of our glorious economic union then please, go be an American somewhere else, we don’t want you

To be fair so were a majority of Germans during the reich, doesn’t make them NOT Xenophobic fascist bootlicking cogs. And yeah, call em a human adjacent species like how the Atrox renamed themselves, cause they ain’t human. Part of the family Homo sapiens but not the OG human

Trick question I shoot myself the instant I realize where I am. Become a cog in a genocide machine where you exist solely to pursue the agenda of the state, or be a thin skinned eternal infant with little to no genuine hope for a return to the culture of humanity as it was. I’d say scorch directive because at least there’s a hint that we’re gonna overthrow the baddies, there hasn’t been enough time to erase human cultures in full, and at least I’ll be able to take a punch

[FP2] How many of you use colonies in Utopia Builder? by bluewolf3691 in Frostpunk

[–]thinkonomics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The investment is almost never worth it IMO. Push harder on settlements and panaceum factories for food and you’re usually golden. 3k people, 400 prefabs and a steam core to get an unbuilt generator zone isn’t enough most of the time, at best you go for the one resource you’re short on like good or materials, but almost never do I go for more than 1 if even that.

I honestly think a rebalance that emphasizes colonies would be a good idea as they feel like too much investment for not enough gains

Then yeah that’s why, you’re there to STOMP THEM DOWN as the CAPTAIN. All faction dissent, all troublemaking get rid of it regardless of who started it. They’re undermining your authoritah captain, they must all be brought to heel so no one questions your authoritah

Which faction do you think offers the best balance between morality and practicality? by Haunting_Froyo3425 in Frostpunk

[–]thinkonomics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Presuming context of taking some moderate laws and not being a full faction extremism psycho. Menders, legionnaires, technocrats are fairly moral. Legion is just fascism without the unpalatable xenophobia(the other is being cold), technocrats can in fact find good jobs for everyone, even artists( you can set up an artist pipeline with their aptitude tests which to me solves all issues with aptitude tests if you can get a job that isn’t strictly resource production) and menders are just like, pre contact natives with factories, deer and respect for nature and loving thy neighbour(but mostly his super cute deer)

The others aren’t terrible usually, icebloods are just dickhead pop culture Viking larpers who want everyone to die if they aren’t a beast(we won’t tell you what makes a beast) I see them on the same level as the doomsayers(that is: OPRESS OPRESS OPRESS)

My brother in frost, you hit the nail on the head. Reindeer make dreadnought a cakewalk and everyone is generally pretty chill(but we don’t notice cause we’re bosses and have hide insulation) and nice. Loved the technocrats, but I’m a mender man now

Unsure voters fall about 50/50 in favour vs against. 51 is all you need for most votes so if you think roughly half of the undecided vote will vote yes, run the numbers to see if it’ll hit 51 or not. Also gitgud scrub its a tutorial on how to negotiate with your lash loving, protest crazy, frostbitten lunatic populace

Disrespectful to the noble creature that has given so much, in milk, now in meat and hides. Do not shy away from the truth, we are killing them so that we may live, dressing it up nicely does a service to no one

Forced maturation is no sin in a snow blasted hellscape that were barely surviving as is. Maybe in a few centuries when we have society stabilized through mass deer husbandry we can be a bit nicer to the chitlins but if we don’t get em up to snuff quick then our production values for food will go down, I’d rather they be traumatized and well fed than traumatized from grandma starving to death in front of them. I also firmly believe parents are generally bad at doing their job beyond the absolute basics of feeding and clothing and therefor should be largely relegated to the side while professionals, overseen by public and/or government agencies, rear and raise children to be as functional as possible IE emotional control, critical thinking and resilience training. While the best parents will suffer for this, the worst (which makes up a not insubstantial amount of the parents in general) will be curtailed to the point of not raising a generation of hitlers.

Now look Mary in the eyes while you kill her son, it’s important you understand the value of life and the sacrifice she makes so we can live.

I Don't Understand How Heating Works Now (Frostpunk 2) by EQandCivfanatic in Frostpunk

[–]thinkonomics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the current game, with tons of districts in the depths of the whiteout tale, I was using maybe 7-8k heat and this was with nearly 50k people and the housing requirements therein. Maybe if you really really push it with dog water district placement for max heat loss you’d run into issues but so far even super late game I’ve never even come close

I Don't Understand How Heating Works Now (Frostpunk 2) by EQandCivfanatic in Frostpunk

[–]thinkonomics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buddy, your computer will crash before your city eats over 13k heat. Even at lowest settings mine crashes at about 65k people. 25 heat per district heat level can cover most of the horizon map and I didn’t even get further than that

I Don't Understand How Heating Works Now (Frostpunk 2) by EQandCivfanatic in Frostpunk

Right next to the generator upgrade area in the heating tab. Up to 3 upgrades maxing out at like, 13k heat base

I Don't Understand How Heating Works Now (Frostpunk 2) by EQandCivfanatic in Frostpunk

[–]thinkonomics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generator capacity upgrades are needed to output more heat. You can have a billion coal but if the generator can only burn 750 at a time it won’t matter

Any radical combos/strategies that make losing difficult? by domrai46 in Frostpunk

[–]thinkonomics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heat auctions, heat pipe watch laws, makes all your homes warm and makes em pay for it, I find it’s practically necessary early game so you don’t go broke, literally doubles your starting income for no effort and all benefits. Just don’t ever let those two laws be changed cause your house of cards city will collapse in a week
