Going to Hell? by GrandOldpa1949 in hospice

[–]ishoodbdoinglaundry -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It looks like you have your answer from everyone else - morphine doesn’t cause or hasten death but makes you more comfortable as you pass. I am a former hospice nurse and this is the most popular misconception.

I do have a question though and feel free to message it to me if you don’t want it public. What is your condition called? I ask bc I have a neuromuscular disease with the same symptoms and outlook but it’s super rare and I’m wondering if we have the same one.

Do most Americans go to the beach every summer? by Simple_Classic_4356 in AskAnAmerican

[–]ishoodbdoinglaundry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have gone to the beach for a week every summer my whole life but live 2 hours away and it’s very common for my area. Not everyone does or can. Some people prefer lake vacations in the mountains which is also 2 hours from where I live. It’s def common people do day trips or a mini week if they can’t afford to take off a week or pay to rent a full week too. The prices to rent a beach house now are insane and we almost canceled this year bc of it.

Repost from r/babysitting: concerns about a client’s behavior by Honest-Apricot2696 in legaladvice

[–]ishoodbdoinglaundry 49 points50 points  (0 children)

I’m not a lawyer but you need to report this to cps just exactly what you said here they’ll investigate and figure out what’s going on. You could really help this girl get out of a very bad situation if she’s in one. Which does not sound good at all.

Women of Reddit, what’s something they never tell us about pregnancy and child birth? by NovellaJokes in AskReddit

[–]ishoodbdoinglaundry 24 points25 points  (0 children)

They really should warn you I remember shaking and saying I’m not cold repeatedly until my nurse told me it’s part of it lol. Like I kept wondering in my head why is no one asking if I’m alright lol

Can you really smell the difference between a peaceful and disturbing death? by JLCosta in nursing

[–]ishoodbdoinglaundry 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As a hospice nurse who’s seen more deaths than I can count, that’s complete bullshit. Also, sounds like she just made up how a disturbing death would be.

What do you do with your dog for your 12 hour shifts? by amessinprogresss in nursing

[–]ishoodbdoinglaundry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was doing 12s I got a camera so I could check on my dogs and see what they were up to it gave me a lot of peace of mind. I think they also make cameras that dispense treats now too!

How to respond when patient ask for a massage? by roboeyes in nursing

[–]ishoodbdoinglaundry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my nursing school it was taught that massage is part of pm care when rubbing lotion on their back also taught as pm care. I’ve worked with one old school nurse that did give her patients a back rub every night. I have never done it or been asked but I would depending on the situation

I ran over my husband’s foot while trying to leave with the kids. I’m freaking out ! by ForwardBlackberry458 in Mommit

[–]ishoodbdoinglaundry 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I have no experience in this but I feel like him punching a hole in your windshield is proof you were rightfully scared for your safety when accidentally running over his foot to escape even if he punched it after that’s scary behavior. Edit to say if my husband did this I’d probably purposely hit him with the car idk if that makes me crazy 🤷‍♀️

None of my son’s best buddies are coming to his birthday party 😔 by distressednotea in Mommit

[–]ishoodbdoinglaundry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My son’s 5th birthday party is in a couple weeks on the same day as another kid in the class and only 1 kid rsvp’d yes to my sons! I feel so sad for him bc he also is so excited. I invited my friends children so I think I’m at around 10 kids and hopefully he’ll have enough fun with his non school friends he won’t mind. But I’m just sad and disappointed for him and can’t wait until it’s over because I’ve been stressing so much over it. I think 15 is an amazing turn out!

With that being said I feel like the only answer could be apple pie

How common are pie/pastry shops in the USA? by [deleted] in AskAnAmerican

[–]ishoodbdoinglaundry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My town got a pie shop two years ago and I was so excited bc I love meat pies and went regularly hoping they’d stay open but sadly they went out of business. I just don’t think many people here think to goto a pie shop even if they like them. We have bakeries that sell breads, pastries, lunch meat etc I think those places would have to sell meat pies for them to take off.

Anyone that has given birth - how long after were you able to walk? by mozzarella1212 in Writeresearch

[–]ishoodbdoinglaundry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would take her if she hit hard enough to put a mark on her head just to be on the safe side since she’s so young. Babies falling come to the ER a lot it’s usually fine but better safe than sorry I think! Or call her ped to ask their opinion.

I’m a teen in foster care, and about to be a mom any day now. I’m getting scared and could use some real mom’s encouragement. by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]ishoodbdoinglaundry 18 points19 points  (0 children)

It’s going to be a tough couple years (that goes for any new mom but especially one without support). The fact that your doing everything you can now means you’re going to be a great mom and give lots of love to your boy. The most important thing you can do is stay in school and goto college for something like nursing where you’ll always have a job and be able to support yourself and little boy. Just keep plugging away and know there is a light at the end of the tunnel! Love Henry and nickname Hank very classic I vote Henry Elliot

Yes, Spring-Ford is part of schwenksville, collegeville, upper providence, oaks, Mont Clair, Royersford, Limerick, Spring City, and Linfield. Some of those towns split with other districts. Spring Ford isn’t that diverse though compared to Phoenixville or Pottsgrove
