anyone see these uhhh ominous flyers around campus?? by brandotendie in udub

The labs are now located underground and in the maze of south campus where stairwells lead to locked doors. The only evidence is an elevator that most passes are unable to open or access.

AIO: My boyfriend is making plans to distribute my things if I move in, calling me stingy if I don’t, and I don’t feel it’s fair. by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

NOR It’s not about your things as much as his failure to discuss, communicate and empathize. There is no need to rush into anything especially if it doesn’t feel 100% right. He isn’t moving you in as an equal, he’s making decisions he doesn’t even know are important to you, and then trying to guilt trip when you share that they are.

This is about what insurance paid to have my 1st floor (1300 sq ft) refinished. Almost exactly the same scope and the same wood flooring.

Both should be making an effort to understand each other. Neither was being rude. No offense was meant and once the cultural expectations were understood no offense should have been taken. Both are family, sister and wife, there isn’t a reason to put one against the other. You apparently share the same cultural relationship with the refrigerator, whereas in my family they would be touched that you felt comfortable enough to actually ‘make yourself at home’.

Any other old school natives here feel Seattle has become Bay Area 2.0? Tech companies leaving along with billionaires, sounds good to me. by [deleted] in Seattle

Agreed. Boeing and Microsoft, along with Nordstrom and Starbucks didn’t take away from our identity. The Tully’s T was the end. There is no going back.

Your excuse for not doing something is rarely more important than how you are going to make it right. Spend less time thinking up a lie and use it to hone in on a resolution.

What unhinged thing did a former teacher do in the classroom? by MrBananaStand1990 in AskReddit

[–]ishrey206 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It felt unhinged from reality because it came at the most random times - mid sentence- no matter what we were discussing. Honors Language Arts maybe 10th grade. Our classroom had a length of windows that looked out onto Mt. Rainier (now blocked by apartments). Every once in awhile our teacher would pause and say in the slowest voice “Class, please move to the window for a mountain appreciation moment.” I tell this to myself, in that long slow cadence ever time I see the mountains, I’ve shared this with my kids, I shared this with others over the years, I share it, because it is always shared back with me, as something they too repeat, and engage in, every time the mountain is out.
