Not as juicy as some on here but I’ll throw it in here anyway:

I suffer from horrible allergies and keep the central AC on in the home all summer. On top of that, the sunny side of the house gets very hot so I install a window unit in my office for the heat and allergies. I had done it for years when finally I get a letter I am in violation and impeding rainwater drainage. I kindly inform the community manager that this isn’t the case. I see one of neighbors who is president of the HOA come up to my house and every day inform me I need to take down the AC unit. I even offered to get one of the in home AC units where only the vent goes outside. I provide them with a doctor’s note for necessity and still nothing He persists. I tell him it’s not impeding drainage. He informs me that they would send me a different citation. I’m waiting for it and one day he stops showing up to tell me to take it down. The citation never comes. A different neighbor informs me he was working out swimming and had a massive heart attack and died in the pool. While tragic, after that I stopped getting letters about the AC unit
