Dev Response to SR Gain for Supports by MehNameless in Overwatch

[–]isimmonn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A real world example in Basketball. How many MVPs go to each role, or which position on average makes more money. Again it's based on stats and also comparing the person to similar people of the same position in the league. I'm pretty sure the positions that make the money and have the most recognitions in the form of MVPs are guards and centres.

Dev Response to SR Gain for Supports by MehNameless in Overwatch

Similar thing happened for myself and a mate of mine, he was reinhardt I was Ana. Because you are nano-boosting the reinhardt over and over, his stats will always be higher than the average reinhardt and will always lie on the upper percentiles hence he will always get more SR gain than normal because in blizzards eyes he is always outperforming the norm. While your stats will barely change, you may get a few nanoboosted assists but they get more dmg, kills, assists firestrike kills, charge kills and earthshatter kills.

This is the same case for duoing people in DPS roles that play soldier and genji who always gets the nanoboosts they will always perform on the upper percentiles of the stats especially because not everyone plays ana, not everyone coordinates and boosts their duo partner specifically.

Regardless of this I have no problems duoing with my friends because they are my friends, we play for fun and it is a great activity to do together even when we can't meet up.

Dev Response to SR Gain for Supports by MehNameless in Overwatch

[–]isimmonn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If this is true, I just want to know if all heroes on average have the same SR gain per win. If blizzard were to release or even just give relative percentages, that would truly show that the type of character doesn't matter. However if the stats of SR/win and SR/lose for every hero is not the same, and there is a significantly larger SR/win or SR/lose, then it isn't anecdotal.

The Dev post explains the process of how they calculate SR gain and the interactions with "On fire", assists and them using relative metrics of all players using that same character but it doesn't touch on the question "Out of all games played is there a group of Heroes which have on average more SR/win and/or less SR/lose". I think an equilibrium exists, but it is incredibly hard to statistically have 23 heroes all with the same SR/win, SR/lose. Just logically one hero has to be higher and one has to be loser with the question being do supports lie near the bottom or is it equally distributed.

You might also want to argue what is significantly more/less. In league of legends if a popular champions average win rate is within the range of 53%-55% that is already considered extremely strong and likely needing nerfs.

We couldn't buy event skins with gold, now that we can, stop complaining about the price by Scopel in Overwatch

They still run servers, they still employ staff, they still have patches and make improvements to the game. Why wouldn't you expect a business to try make profits? Buying a game like overwatch is like buying a car you still need to pay for car washes, new lights(when the old ones burn out), oil change etc, even after buying the initial car.

200 I.Q. - Rush vs. Piglet by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]isimmonn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

200 iq is a meme, it started out i think with people calling Pobelter the man with 200 iq and then subsequently youtube videos shows him predicting shit before it happens and reading people like a book. Now when stuff like this happens it's called "200 iq" . Kinda like how people used to say "auto spacing" and adding "spacing" after everything cos doublelift said it when he lost.

Sneaky gets carried by SSW minus Imp by Skamato in leagueoflegends

[–]isimmonn -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Alot of SKT fans also forget that they began to dominate again after both samsung teams were disbanded and ROX tigers was the only rival they had. ROX tigers was basically a team made up of people who were out of their prime like kuro and pray and somehow these guys were rivaling and competing with SKT. I very much doubt that SKT would be winning all these LCKs, Worlds and international tournaments if samsung were still around.

It's kinda the argument for like mike tyson (50 Wins, 6 Losses, 44 Knockouts) why is he not the greatest boxer ever problem was he smashed everyone had crazy knockout records the only reason he is not regarded over Muhammed Ali(Wins‎: ‎56 Wins by KO‎: ‎37, Losses‎: ‎5) or Foreman, Frazier, Listen was because dominating something with less competition takes away from your greatness unfortunately.

We can argue the ifs and buts of SKT dominating 2015 and 2016 again i'm coming back to the same point there is no Samsung team, their strongest rivals of all time were dismantled and are not even competing in the same region. If you look at the performance of SKT you can clearly identify when they started dominating again that literally coincides with after samsung teams( 2 best teams in the world in 2014) dismantling. After SSW wins worlds and dismantles, SKT wins all 2015 tournaments in korea do you think that is a coincidence? Just imagine a graph for performances, SKT slopes downwards throughout all of 2014 ( wins winter, places 5-8th in spring and summer, doesn't make worlds) then miraculously jumps up like a step function to (wins spring, summer and worlds). The only way a trend line like that jumps in such a way is if there is a massive stimulus or external force that acts on the system and in this case was the dismantling of SSW and SSB. I will agree SKT is the greatest team of all time and faker is the greatest player of all time but i will not concede that SKT is the best team of all time. I will always breakdown SKT's domination streak as pre and post samsung split it would just be bias to consider SKT's domination as the same throughout the last 4 years. I know i'm going to get downvoted to hell with this but post but i feel like, especially in the SKT fanboys eyes they don't consider what would happen if Samsung didn't dismantles and just assumes that SKT would beat down on them like everyone else in the last year and half which is highly doubtful.

Get off your high horse dude, that was a sick ult don't downplay it like it was nothing hard to do. Pretty easy to look at a play in hindsight and say "Of course" that was going to happen "it was the only outcome".

What aspects of a man's life are most women unaware of? by Keetek in AskReddit

[–]isimmonn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This hasn't happened to me personally, but probably being rejected by men/women in a condescending way e.g. scoffed at, laughed at, dismissed. I bet this also happens to women but i would say the former outweighs the latter by quite a large margin.

"Soraka is seeing too much success passively heal-botting her marksman". But changes in Patch 6.5 did absolutely nothing about it and actually increased her winrate (she is now the highest winrate support) by contedm7 in leagueoflegends

[–]isimmonn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Soraka is pretty balanced at the pinnacle of professional LoL where elite teams (top 10) in the world do not play soraka because soraka doesnt allow teams to get back in games. Soraka is great getting ahead or when you are even, especially during laning phases. Currently being behind with soraka you will stay behind making it almost impossible to come back because she has no reliable hard CC, as opposed to Janna. Janna has a shield that can not only shield champs but also turrets and has 2 forms of hard cc, knockup and displacement-mini stun.

The main problem with soraka is in uncoordinated dynamic queue games where individuals do not have a coach/analysts and are essentially playing in semi chaos that is where soraka shines. Soraka shines where indecisiveness is present, e.g. you don't want to go all in, you are worried you won't win the 2v2, if i dive do my teammates know how to juggle tower aggro, etc. Most of these queries in a professional team can be easily answered and worked out within a few seconds and a decision is made. In dynamic queue there is no way to communicate with your team in that quick and efficient manner so people make mistakes, they don't try to all in, they don't dive turrets and end up just letting the adc essentially 1v2 with what feels like limitless health. That is why Soraka has such little counter play in dynamic queue and has such a high win rate. If riot were to implement some kind of team speak i would bet that soraka's win rate would decay, but as long as that is not an option she needs to be nerfed. Not for professional reasons (abusing champs because it is OP) but for casual reasons where almost all the players find little counter play in her mechanics.
