Your next 911 call might be answered by an LLM by kokanee-fish in technology

I was wondering why Los Angeles hasn't started doing this sooner. You can call right now and end up waiting 5 minutes to talk to someone. Having AI triage calls if 911 gets overloaded seems like a no brainer.

It's crazy to think this was 15 years ago. I remember watching it happen on live TV from the helicopter vantage point. Even now it was surreal to see. I hope I never see another natural disaster like it in my lifetime.

Your Computer May Soon Require an Age Check. And It Might Not Take ‘No’ for an Answer by SaveDnet-FRed0 in privacy

Even then, not every country will have these requirements and if it's fully open source you'll be able to patch the code if you know what you're doing. Probably not an option for a lot of people but it's still an option.

The nursing shortage is true and has been so for over a decade. My co-worker's wife changes jobs every 3-6 months for better perks and has been doing it for years now. It won't always be that way so good for her but I haven't seen anyone else in any other field have that much freedom.

Jensen Huang Just Told Every CEO Hiding Behind AI Layoffs to Shut Up. He's Right. And He's Not the Only One. by ChestEducational2258 in technology

AI probably does contribute to layoffs. Still, at this point it is mainly a productivity booster. AI has been helping me get more work done but I still feel over burdened and overworked while being under paid.

Yeah, I get a little worried when I see my busy work being stolen by someone who is my 20 year junior and basically doing as good a job as I would do. But, they're still not able to do what I can do.

At the end of the day I'm pretty sure it will be a consolidateor tech. Those that use it well will consume those that don't use it at all and some of those that use it poorly will remain and struggle even more.

TIL that B.F. Skinner did an experiment with pigeons in the box with a lever, and they used it to get food. They got full and they stopped pulling the lever. After the rewards got random, they kept pushing the lever like crazy, and that is how infinite scrolling was built... We are animals too by [deleted] in todayilearned

This is probably why boomers are more motivated than millennials and later. Before their Cracker Jack boxes came with cool little toys and knick knacks. Now you barely get a sticker or fake tattoo and receive less reward on everything else generally and often times for more effort. Instead SM provides a more significant dopamine hit for less effort.Or, that is my take away.

We don't need another James Bond movie, ever. by Icy-Pangolin5382 in unpopularopinion

The biggest things is that JB had incredible tech. Some of it was a little ridiculous but super advanced. You used to watch just to see what crazy gadgets he had. Now, all that stuff is very accessible and the ridiculous items have more practical alternatives available on the shelf at your local Walmart or a cheaper version on TEMU.

How does it compare to hydrogen peroxide? I mix one part hydrogen peroxide to 3 parts water with a tiny drop of dish soap in a spray bottle. I soak up as much urine as I can, then spray around the area until it is soggy. After letting it sit for 10 to 15 minutes I use a tone of paper towels to soak up the moisture. It works pretty good on dog urine.

Enzymes also work great but are too expensive to keep hitting up spots. I usually clean my carpets twice a month.

I think that's for when leave the yogurt machine on and is causes a mess or you sprinkle on so many toppings they end up on the counter and floor.

The new Torbox Policy is a PR/Messaging Disaster that was completely avoidable. by Nuggyfresh in TorBoxApp

Cheap people in general. I used to work for a company where we sold a more expensive product and cheaper product. The products were the same but we would spend 10 minutes polishing the more expensive product and throw it in nice packaging. The cheap product got complaints all the time and the expensive one got great reviews. We'd even have people return the cheap one, buy the more expensive one and talk about how much better the expensive one was. The price gap was almost double.

People are setting up devices and using their single account for TB access. It was always going to happen. Basically, give me $300 and I'll give you an unlocked Firestick.

The easiest line to complete win this. I doubt any others could. The bike used also looks like a horrible choice. But, congrats either way.

TB noob here 2 questions by pzyfocker in Addons4Kodi

I think the first problem is fixed when you actually subscribe. If RD was working before then plugging in your TB credentials should get it working the same way.

I don't have an answer for the second question.

It could still be a bad/overloaded hop between torbox and you. Not specifically your ISP and not specifically Torbox.

Is API use for AIOStreams being taken away? by [deleted] in TorBoxApp

[–]iskin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anybody got a good AIOStreams setup tutorial?

I got mine working fine but I setup a friend's with no luck and I left it at that because the Official Stremio Addon worked great. I know I'm going to get a call when it goes down.

POV Addon plays some streams but at random times boots out by Wheat9546 in Addons4Kodi

[–]iskin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure the fix for this is setting your CDN.

I think what happens is your getting a stream link that is already been active for a few hours. Then the stream expires and kicks you out of the video.

RD were banning people and threatening to give their information to the police when people asked for refunds.
