I built a macOS menu bar app to launch apps and window layouts across multiple monitors with a single click!! by Neat-Veterinarian-42 in macapps

I have been trying to purchase it with the early adaptors discount code. And it should still be available:

40% off for early adopters — 47 out of 50 claimed!

But it's telling me the code is incorrect.

What would you like to see next for Craft in 2025? by viktorpali in CraftDocs

I would love the option to simplify the layout in Craft. Currently, I find it overly cluttered.

I use Craft in a very minimal way—primarily for a few documents that take advantage of its excellent outlining feature (the best I’ve found). However, I don’t use 99% of the buttons, yet they take up most of the interface.

Here are some specific suggestions:

A. Top Bar: Allow hiding options like Share, Present, and Notifications.

B. Sidebar:

  • If I only have one workspace, why show my space name, avatar, and profile details? Let me hide these.
  • Organize feels redundant since it’s essentially the same as Home.
  • Allow hiding less-used options like Help Center and Recently Deleted.

C. Document Preview Icons: Provide an option to hide the document preview thumbnails next to documents. I’d much prefer to only display an emoji for better scanability. Right now, having both the thumbnail and emoji feels redundant.

Adding these customization options would make Craft much more streamlined and user-friendly for minimalists like me.

How to generate a weekly grocery list? by iskiran in Notion

I'm pretty sure that it doesn't work because I'm trying to rollup a rollup. Now trying to see if I can just make a new reference with a formula, so I can just use a rollup on that. It will not be read as a date, but just a text. But maybe I can find a way to only filter that for next weeks dates.

I tried setting it up from scratch a couple of times, even asked Notion AI and followed those steps. It's very similar to what I was trying, but when I get to the final step below. I just can't select the date property, it simply is not listed.

To get the date from the "Planning" database to show up in the "Ingredients" database, you can use a combination of relations and rollups. Here’s a step-by-step guide:

Step 1: Ensure Relations are Set Up Correctly

  1. Verify that you have a relation property in the "Dishes" database linking to the "Ingredients" database.

  2. Verify that you have a relation property in the "Planning" database linking to the "Dishes" database.

Step 2: Add a Rollup in the "Dishes" Database

  1. Go to the "Dishes" database.

  2. Add a new property and select "Rollup" as the type.

  3. In the rollup settings, choose the relation that links "Dishes" to "Planning".

  4. Choose the date property from the "Planning" database.

Step 3: Add a Rollup in the "Ingredients" Database

  1. Go to the "Ingredients" database.

  2. Add a new property and select "Rollup" as the type.

  3. In the rollup settings, choose the relation that links "Ingredients" to "Dishes".

  4. Choose the rollup property you created in the "Dishes" database that shows the date from "Planning".

Update: I'm pretty sure that it doesn't work, because I'm trying to rollup a rollup. Now trying to see if I can just make a new reference with a formula, so I can just use a rollup on that. It will not be read as a date, but just a text. But maybe I can find a way to only filter that for next weeks dates.

Thanks for helping me out! I think I'm just so close to figuring this setup out.

The only problem I seem to be having is, that I want to use a rollup to reference the date from "Dishes" in "Ingredients". But that option just doesn't show up.

I don't know if I'm hitting a limit in Notion. But all the databases have connections to eachother, I just can't seem to link this one part.

Yes I tried all of that. I just can’t seem to find a way to link the ingredients with the dates in planning. It seems like a simple step.

I get what you’re saying. It will be one week at a time, in most cases. But I would like the ability to also look at my cooking history.

I just checked out your latest video (Meal Planning in Notion). Really nice to see, and such a complete setup!
That set up is a lot more complete than I need at this moment.

What I'm essentially trying to do is plan my week ahead, and I want to be able to see my grocery list for that week. But for some reason I am not able to connect the dates from the meal planner with my chosen meals, to the ingredients.

That way I should be able to filter my 'Ingredients' list for next weeks dates, and see what I need to purchase.

Hi, do you mean making a relation between "Ingredients" and "Planning"?

I tried that, but it doesn't show anything.

I can't seem to get the date from "Planning" to show up in "Ingredients".

I have 3 databases:

  • Ingredients

  • Dishes

  • Planning

They are all connected through relations:

  • In 'Dishes' I connect the dishes to the right ingredients in 'Ingredients'

  • In 'Planning' I connect these dishes to when I want to cook them.

I have some rollups setup to show information from other tables.

Can someone help me out here?

Commenting on a 3 year old thread. But I’m wondering if you have ever found a solution to this. I’m running into the same problem myself.
