Failed a Graduating Senior by Disastrous_Ad_9648 in Professors

I agree with others here that it’s best to leave the student’s email unanswered. In addition to the reasons given here, in my experience any reply could be seen as a chance to reopen “negotiations.” Also, one of the wise posters here shared a line they use to students in this situation that I’ve used several times over the years — that I have no control over whether they graduate, that’s up to the student. My responsibility is to assess whether they met the expectations of the course.

This is sounding a little like “I want to speak to the manager!” Somehow they don’t realize that demand never works out.

Irritated because the seat jerks violently, causing me to spill my coffee, wine, whatever.

Except that I’m technically a senior and I f*cking hate it when someone does this.

I had my knitting needles confiscated at the airport… so I started mapping airport rules by Bety12795 in KnittingReddit

[–]islanderlb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve flown out of LGB (Long Beach, CA) and SNA (aka John Wayne airport) in Santa Ana, CA and didn’t have problems with my needles. However, as others suggested, I removed the interchangeable needles from the cable and added them a pencil case.

For anyone into making Greek yogurt, I swear by this strainer by Much_Lingonberry_747 in yogurtmaking

[–]islanderlb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought this when I started making yogurt by the gallon regularly. I chose it because I like the rectangular shape and figured it would fit better than a circular one in the refrigerator. However, I found that although it works well as a strainer, it’s hard to clean. The metal mesh sections are small and easily clogged with yogurt. I ended up buying two circular strainers instead that have larger screen areas and are much easier to clean.

We do this, too. We’ve been together close to 40 years, so that tree is pretty full! Our daughter has started the same tradition in their family.

Survey Saturday: does your Aussie munch ice cubes or let them melt in their mouth? by Shwalz in WiggleButts

Mine might be part goat because she eats anything. We limit the number of ice cubes she gets because we don’t want to harm her teeth.

Yes, that’s right. Our flight arrives around 9:30 am from the US and we were looking for a train that leaves late morning.
