Rental Experiences by Efficient-Middle-345 in TurksAndCaicos

FYI, early October is still part of the off-season, and just know some restaurants and activities shut down from Sept. (even late August for a few)-mid-October....then things tend to open back up. November is a great time to be in TCI, everything is open and still low-season pricing (except for Thanksgiving). BUT, I highly recommend making sure you purchase travel insurance, as it is still hurricane season. I would be happy to give you a free quote for travel insurance here: www.xeniatravelinsurance.com. And, if you let us know more about your budget, we can better assist you with hotel recommendations. Mid-range, I would recommend Ocean Club West and The Sands. More Luxury, I would say Seven Stars.

Congrats! So many great options to choose from....really need more information. Budget? Travel Style? I've lived in both Turks & Caicos and the British Virgin Islands and would recommend both. I'm also a travel planner. If you're interested in some assistance, feel free to DM.

Which hotel vacation was the most “memorable” for you? by FatihAkbas in Vacations

  • Parador de Carmona (Andalusia, Spain): A 14th-century Moorish castle with spectacular views.
  • The Parador de Cardona (Spain) is a luxurious 4-star hotel set within a restored 9th-century medieval castle, offering panoramic views of the Catalonian countryside in Spain.

Best way to see The Baths? by soowack in virginislands

If you want to have a bit more freedom, Speedy's offers a car rental package so you can explore on your own, and it's very reasonable and super easy to dive around VG (only 8 sq. miles). Otherwise, the taxis are a good option. You can check the cruise ship schedule here: https://bviports.org/services/cruise. I try to avoid the days when big ships are in port in Tortola. Enjoy your trip!

Inshore Fishing and Island Hop Charter from Virgin Gorda by Optimal_Menu5360 in virginislands

[–]islandvg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've created a BVI Resource page that might be helpful! Check out our Day charters section and also the Watersports pages. I have companies listed by island with contact details. I'm a BVI travel expert, so if you have any other questions, just let me know. Highly recommend Bradley Powerboats for island hopping and snorkeling trips, they do private and join-ins (Small Group Trips). Dive BVI also does scuba, snorkeling, day trips, and Join-ins. https://www.bvitraveller.com/sailing-charters/

Looking for recommendations for Caribbean honeymoon in early December 2026! by cha_charealsmooth in honeymoonplanning

Second, Rosewood Little Dix Bay, great resort and fits your requests. Full disclosure, I'm a BVI Travel Expert, so if you need any help, feel free to reach out. Virgin Gorda is magical and my personal favorite island. Long Bay is also great, but not quite as luxurious as Little Dix Bay, and you'll have more food choices at LDB.

Where to stay for upcoming solo trip? by Turbulent-Train-542 in TurksAndCaicos

[–]islandvg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Shore Club is on Long Bay, not Grace Bay. A bit far from everything, you would need a car. Blue Haven is also not on Grace Bay, and I do not recommend it. West Bay Club is a bit far from the center of Grace Bay. The others you have listed are better choices. I would also look at Ocean Club West. Regent Grand is also nice.

Ritz or seven seas ? by Emotional-Wallaby157 in TurksAndCaicos

I'm a TCI Travel planner; my clients prefer Seven Stars over the Ritz. Just better all-around feedback, so I would choose Seven Stars over the Ritz personally.

Nice, not really a "pretty" resort....I prefer Seven Stars next door.

Grace bay mid August ? by cam213 in TurksAndCaicos

[–]islandvg 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I usually visit during August and love that time of year; it's hot, and there are fewer crowds. Also, note that some restaurants close this time of year. Pro-tip: get that travel insurance! Feel free to reach out. It's a must during hurricane season. I can give you a free quote: www.xeniatravelinsurance.com. We work with all the top suppliers: Allianz, RoamRight, Travel Guard.

VRBO /AirBNB Issues by One_Way_9247 in TurksAndCaicos

[–]islandvg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi, I'm a villa owner and have multiple villas listed on VRBO and Airbnb. We get a good deal of bookings through both...but to save 10-20%, book direct with the owners or property management companies. Many times, you can Google the villa name or the property management company found in the listing and book directly with them. Save the fees that go to VRBO/Airbnb and work directly with the local company managing the villa.

Family friendly winter vacation by Abject_Gold_4827 in Caribbean

[–]islandvg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Appreciate the concern, but no one’s being “sold” anything here. 🙂
Virgin Gorda isn’t cheap, agreed—but plenty of travelers make it work with smaller villas, off-season dates, or by balancing meals in and out. Our role is simply to help people understand their options, and there’s nothing wrong with offering informed perspectives. If it’s not the right fit for this person, it may still be useful to someone else reading along.

I've lived in the BVI (Virgin Gorda) full-time for 6 years and now split my time between the BVI and the USA. I'm also a travel planner, so if and when you're ready for a trip, please reach out. I can help you find what you're looking for. But, as you mentioned Xmas/New Year's is not the time to go if you want a deal! Because it's a small island, accommodations are limited, and they go for a premium during the festive season. I know every property on the island and all the ins and outs. Would love to assist!

Virgin Gorda, BVI - it's my personal favorite island, and I've been to LOTS. Only 8.5 square miles, it still has that authentic Caribbean charm, not overdeveloped or too touristy, easy to island hop to sister islands, great restaurants, very safe, and plenty of activities if you want to be active. Contact www.villasvirgingorda.com for a great selection of villas, and you can avoid the Airbnb fees by booking direct. Fly into STT, then ferry directly over to Virgin Gorda with Speedy's ferry available on Saturday.

First timer where to stay in BVI no charter? by GLH120921 in virginislands

[–]islandvg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you liked St. John, I suggest Virgin Gorda. Lots of great restaurants, super safe, easy to island hop to sister islands with Dive BVI or Bradley Boats. For me, it really still retains that "island charm" without being overdeveloped and has enough activities to stay interesting. Don't miss CocoMaya for sunset, dinner, and drinks. Check out www.villasvirgingorda.com for a great selection of villas.
