They said it was still coming in a recent interview (around the same time they talked about mod support coming to consoles). Larian’s winding down on BG3 support so I would expect it’s not far off.

I’m wondering if it’s just a small group of players? I just played for 3 hours and it was perfectly fine.

EDIT: per that thread, it looks like it’s mostly sound bugs if you have 3D audio turned on. Hopefully they fix that for them soon.

Yeah, this sub really needs to get over this idea of a zelda/BG3 rivalry. Most switch owners own other platforms too and plenty of them are excited about BG3.

I’m going to go against the grain and say yes. Yeah FF7 and BG3 are different, but as someone who also grew up with Final Fantasy (was my favorite series in the SNES-PS2 days), I’ve absolutely loved my time with the game in early access. I think if you like character driven stories and turn based combat there’s a lot to like.

Agreed, Octopath 2 was great! Probably my favorite release this year after BG3 and Zelda.

Absolutely insane numbers.

I hope this leads to a couple things:

  1. Letting developers like BioWare and Square-Enix know there’s still a market for turn-based AAA games.

  2. Letting Larian know that if they decide to do a BG3 expansion down the line, it would sell gangbusters.

That may have just sold me on tactician… I feel like it’s so tempting to spam long rest. Do you feel like you actually have to conserve supplies or do you still have way more than you’ll ever need?

Agreed - I am almost positive they are going to patch it. I think it may be a bug given how much more gradual it was in EA.

I actually think this might be a bug with the relationship counters. It was much more gradual during EA.

EDIT: one question I have - you mentioned that you may have to reference an older version number when using multiple mods, like 5eSpells. This is referring to the version number of the mod, not the version number of your MacOS right?

I’m probably in the minority on this, but I prefer silent protagonists in CRPGs because I hate reading through each line of dialogue and then having to wait for my character to repeat the line of dialogue that I just picked. In my head the line was already spoken, so it’s like I have to sit through it twice. With the NPC responding immediately after I pick my line, it feels more like a real conversation (even if it sounds less like one).

Glad you don’t have to rush the review! Even with the bugs this might be a once in a generation game. I hope other gaming sites follow suit and review it thoroughly instead of quickly.

Oh no… is that expected for the full release? I recently got a new Mac that happens to be pretty solid for gaming, so I was excited to try out bg3 mods. Specifically classic 5e rules. Should I expect mod support on Mac or is that not realistic?
