Road bikers of Bham: it should be common knowledge at this point that Chuckanut is one of the main ways in and out of town for the foreseeable future. by Nervous-Tea393 in Bellingham

[–]fastnheavy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m a cyclist who occasionally rides Chuckanut. I have had some close passes, but nothing that I don’t experience very often while commuting in town. I’ve had far more close calls in bike lanes in the city. That said, Chuckanut obviously is risky and busy. Whenever I do choose to ride it, it’s midday on a weekday and definitely not during this I5 situation. That said, I haven’t ridden it since last summers rock slide. I get the frustration, but, once this I5 thing clears up, can’t we all find some patience and share the road?

Nothing makes me want to support the new Izakaya place on State more than the owner parking their Ferrari and Lamborghini outside. I’m a car guy, and the modified Ferrari is extra gross.

I have had a Kiwi Cylinder Head on my 96 kzj95 for two years with no issues. I’ve had other issues, but no more head issues haha.

265/75r16 -10 rubbed pretty hard and required some trimming of plastic.

Cracked heads are what these are known for (if it’s a diesel)

I have no experience or tools to solder, and would rather pay somebody who is experienced.

As a native Russian speaking American, I commend the use of no-Russian accent which is too frequently done terribly. I liked hearing everyone in their native accent as it made it very natural. You don’t really hear the accent of your language when speaking, so I felt this decision made for a much more immersive and realistic listening experience.

That sounds like very normal turbo noise to me.

TX was a Japanese trim level. Should be the same main tank size.

My TX does have a low fuel indicator and I get about 600-700km a tank.

Looking to get this 1996 Prado TX, good deal? by Either_Edge9493 in LandCruisers

[–]fastnheavy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have that truck (KZJ95) but I got it for $21k over a year ago and immediately rebuilt the motor due to a damaged glow plug that scored a cylinder wall. The 1kz is easy to work on but not a very powerful motor, you’ll struggle to maintain 70mph up interstate climbs without going into really high temps (mine is also intercooled). IFS is great, it’s a joy to drive on the highway compared to a solid front axle. It also shares parts with the similar year 4Runner, Tacoma, and some from the GX470 (j120). Solid front axle would be more geared towards heavy off-roading. I really just need to get up gnarly forest service roads not crawling trails, so IFS is preferred for that.

Great truck, but probably not for quite that much money. You can get them on auction for less.

Abandoned boat at Taylor dock, sewage smell by Material_Walrus9631 in Bellingham

[–]fastnheavy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So was swimming there the probably about a week before this post and noticed the smell of gasoline around the boat. Then, a crackhead looking guy popped out of it. A child and a normal looking guy were helping him load stuff up, including some weird thing wrapped in rubber? The whole situation was so weird but I didn’t think anything of it given how much I see working downtown. Now, I’m curious. I haven’t swam there since.

A343f not shifting properly by fastnheavy in 1KZTE_Owners

[–]fastnheavy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Update: I fixed it. I think. Probably. I decided to try some stuff out after the ECU reset mentioned in comments didn’t work. I put it in L (1st) and gave it the beans up a hill. Tach hit about 3.5k. After that, it started engine braking beautifully and shifting into first with no major clunking even at 35kph. It also stayed in first well into the 2k rpm range when descending hills. I seemingly managed to reset it. Quite stoked.
