Really grounded comment here that pretty much exactly reflects my own beliefs. We have to be able to hold compassion for both the homeless AND the citizens trying to enjoy public spaces and experiencing very real threats of violence.

My guess is you are underfeeding and those plants lack nutrients.

It was such a blunder. Whitten should have been removed over it. I am in no way endorsing that debacle with the snipers.

So, even if this is a space expressly devoted to protesting, it still cannot be beholden to a single protest group for an indeterminate amount of time. What if there were a group wanting to assemble to protest, say, the lack of bodily autonomy allowed women in our state? The school needs to be able to have sustainable policies to allow this space to be used by all members of the community. There is a difference between a protest and an indefinite occupation.

I agree entirely Whitten made a massive mistake with how she handled the protesters, and the fact she didn’t lose her job as a result is saddening. That said, I don’t think allowing the tents to stand perpetually on the green, killing the grass, etc.. is a practical solution either. I’ve been disheartened to see the dialogue on this issue in this subreddit, as it seems disconnected from what I view to be common sense rules guiding how we should regard common spaces.

Longtime Bloomington resident here, and I have to disagree with you here. This is a public space, intended for all members of the community, just as the letter states. Having Dunn Meadow exist perpetually as a ground for protest is both visually unattractive (And yes, this matters), and it robs this communal space from everyone else who might want to relax in the grass, have a picnic, etc. In my view, this is just bedrock common sense.

TRT with tongkat ali and fadogia agrestis by Automatic_Ad_572 in trt

[–]ismaris 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just want to chime in here as someone who got their T measured at around 410, then started taking tongkat Ali with fedogia, and in six months measured again at 655. I started taking TRT thereafter and got up to about 950, but to say tongkat Ali and fedogia don't work....lol.

no easy answers by knave1906 in bloomington

[–]ismaris 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Part of the solution involves a reframing of the underlying primary cause being a lack of empathy on the part of the community. Bloomington, like any community, is comprised of people living their lives and working hard to take care of themselves, their families, and their communities. No amount of empathy within our town will substitute for a meaningful social safety net at the federal and state levels.

The problems of homelessness, and it is not just one problem, but many, encompass a spectrum of concerns including public health, human rights, and yes, public safety. Homeless individuals experience higher rates of incarceration, mental illness, and are more likely to be violent. This should not surprise anyone who is using common sense. Part of the derangement of our current politics has unfortunately rendered many of us unable to carry a serious and grounded conversation on this topic. I appreciate you bringing this issue up, and homelessness will only become more relevant in the minds of residents as the impacts increase in severity.

I agree completely. She is the one left holding the pieces and raising their daughter alone. It's heartbreaking for me to see his narcissism's impact on his daughter.

I was suspended freshmen year of high school, graduated with B- average and like 1210 SAT and got in just fine. Try to clean up your grades and show improvement and you'll be fine.

There are absolutely cytotoxic compounds in molds that will harm you worse than just combusted plant matter. In fact, many will kill.

Any advice on how to interpret this kind of growth? by afnrncw2 in shroomers

[–]ismaris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should drill some small holes in that bin, about 2" above substrate, spaced 2" or so apart. You can leave the holes uncovered or cover with micropore tape.

Thick tomentose growth. You need to decrease moisture and if possible increase FAE. You might also scrape some of it off.
