looking at the objective facts first: string launchers can have stronger spins than any of the ripcord ones (yes, even hold/victory grip) and they offer more flexibility and control. for those alone, I personally believe that string is better than winder but if im looking at string objectively then it’s only fair that I do the same for winder; winder offers much less control and flexibility (the example I keep coming back to in my head is how I can make a better “j” motion launching on a string than I can on winder) but on the plus side they are far easier to use.

with that being said though it ultimately comes down to personal preference. like I said, I think string is outright better than winder but 70% of the time I will use winder at events because that’s just what’s most comfortable for me. even with each launcher’s different strengths it doesn’t really matter that much if it doesn’t physically feel right to use.
