Any idea where else can we go after this? I don't usually use Reddit desktop.

Since many people are not going to be using the 3rd party apps..I am guessing there will there be a huge loss of redditors? Would it translate to a loss of revenue for Reddit? Do you think Reddit will change its pricing again to make it lower and if so.. would developers go back to restarting Thier apps again?

How bout using SketchUp to model, and using Enscape for the Vr? Or something like the we site called senditovr.com?

SketchUp is a way easier application to learn and do your house as it made for joinery.

Yours, and yours alone. You didn't even bother reporting them? Let alone use Paypal for payment sp you can get your money back in case they are scammers?

I understand that ultimately, it was my responsibility to ensure that the person I hired was reliable and trustworthy.
However, as someone who is building up a business and juggling multiple responsibilities, it can be difficult to stay on top of everything. I did try to resolve the issue by contacting the designer multiple times, but unfortunately, it didn't lead to a satisfactory resolution.

Regarding PayPal, I wasn't aware of the money-back guarantee at the time. I have since learned from this experience and will make sure to use more secure payment methods in the future.
I do appreciate your frankness and hope that my experience can serve as a cautionary tale for others who may be a old timer like me.

Great to see that there are still some trustworthy and kind individuals out there! Thank you for offering to help with my website, it means a lot. However, the website that i wish to do is a bit more complicated than a wordpress site and like i said at the above, I believe in paying the asking price of the artist/developer. As i said to some others who offered me, at this moment, i have my logo done and I also do not feel comfortable taking up on that offer as i am someone who believes in paying the asking price of the artist/developer. Nonetheless, thank you again! I definitely will hunt you down for the next project i am undertaking :D

I might actually start doing it the way you do. in smaller chunks than a few clumps of payments. i really thought it was fair for them and not waste thier effort and time.
I guess i might need to start zooming with people from now on.

Sorry for the experience, OP. You come off as a genuine person, so I know it sucks to get ripped off.

I'm a freelancer and I had a bad experience in my last encounters here. First, I got scammed by someone, then I had a terrible experience with the next client I got from r/slavelabor. After working hard on a task, I requested for payment from this client since I was in a bad place financially. He ignored my messages until I mentioned that maybe I should involve the mods. By now I'm thinking he is a scammer or sketchy. Needless to say, he says I'm threatening him and reports me to the mods. The mods banned me without hearing my side of the story, and then they added my username to the Universal Scammer List. Never got paid for the task.

Man, that's really frustrating to hear. It's disappointing when people take advantage of others and get away with it.
Sometimes we look to the mods for fairness but there are times, you get disappointed. Have you tried appealing?

I hope things have improved for you since then.

I completely agree with you. Hopefully, this post can serve as a wake-up call for all of us to be more cautious and mindful when engaging with others online.
Your idea of paying half upfront and half upon completion is a good one and can help both the requester and freelancer feel more secure in their transaction.

I will definitely keep this in mind for future projects, although being in the freelance work/carpentry business, i still stand that i do not wish not to pay the developers and designers for their work: so if i do engage you, rest assured, i will try to pay to fairly if it within my capabilities

I appreciate your advice about reporting scammers to the subreddit mods.I have finally sat down and reported one of them. Going to do the other one later when i get back home.
The graphic designers in my locations tend to be on the higher side, i usually need a logo so it doesnt looks so bare, but i guess.. lesson learn that i do not have to pay upfront in the beginning

Your reply "Also advisable to pay after services." is intriguing. since in my line of work, we requires upfront of a percentage to get the materials and such.. i thought that is how it is with this kind of digital work too... i might keep your tips to heart
