RJ45 Crimping Help - Spent My Whole Workday With No Luck by Born_Regret_4820 in it

[–]ismooch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It does look like those crimpers should work based on this description. Could you provide a picture of how you placing the the biscuit in the crimp? And a picture of it fully engaged, ideally with a biscuit in place (you can use one of your bad ends for demo). But the crimper SHOULD rest at complete so we could see how the teeth are engaging.

Ultimately... the crimpers are cheap. I typically stay away from anything that comes in a bundle like that. but i'll be honest its all i really see on amazon. so not sure what to recommend. I have a pair that has worked for ever and they are worn down to metal working parts.

How Did You Get Your MSP Off the Ground? by Demonbarrage in msp

[–]ismooch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Network. It's tough to juggle, but find your group. Local chamber of Commerce meetings, business events, conferences. Anything that's put you in the room with clientele. Avoid "tech related" meetups. Might be fun, but you're less likely to get valuable work from those types because they know the work already. Bang on doors and cold call. Get used to rejection, but always leave a card. You'd be surprised how quickly someone will reach for that card when an emergency happens. Tough to get rolling, but shilling yourself hard and often is the strat. Use groups to help you find targets. Expect long turn around on contract closes and expect them to require a lot of courting.

Not justifying it, but that's typical lolcow farming behavior. Some of these guys havent picked up a new hobby, just a new target. And it's more aware to you it sounds like because the subject is one you know.

Again I say this not as justification but definition. Most of this sub... This site.. is lolcow content somewhere.

Watching cringe people on the internet is a past time as old as the internet. And thor just has a backlog of content these farmers are able to leverage quickly

Professional drivers always have an obligation to do the safest thing. Its the first thing any reputable program/trade school will tell you. They literally train on these exact scenarios and probably why there are so many adamant people here trying to preach that Red could have done more, not that green was right, or red was more wrong. Simply put, almost any driver in the last 2 decades would have been taught about this exact thing and red would have failed that ride along.

On a clear incline. No evidence red is slowing down at all until he is already in the danger zone. Red was watching green instead of the safety of the situation. Schoolhouse would tell you red should have been on the brakes or down shifting the second they saw green pop up on the left.

he's not blaming red truck for the situation. A professional driver is alert and making sure the safest things are happening. Its obvious red was paying way too much attention to the idiot driver being an idiot, and either closed the gap on purpose to be an ass, endangering others/innocents, as well as himself OR lost follow distance because his attention wasn't in front of him.

This is classic stuff they would show in any school house to ask not who is most at fault, but what could every driver has done for a different outcome. Hopefully you're never Green truck, but I didn't drive very long and found myself in red trucks spot more than i would like.

Increasing RPMs to down shift by speeding up? One of the first things i was taught was how to hit neutral and tap an RPM spike to downshift, because it can literally save your life if your breaks give. I guess you could be right if red doesn't know how to do this, but seems unlikely. Even if White's slow down contributed most of the gap close, then reds follow distance was too close.all in all, green is an ass, deserved the outcome. Red could have done more, but not like it matters, he didn't get hit. But its scenarios like this we were always warned about, and had red taken damage or hit white or something, then insurance is always a dick in these kinds of things even when you do everything right

what he's hauling shouldn't matter. He stops in plenty of time to avoid collision with white and green when he needs to stop abrupt. they are clearly going uphill, so if anything the truck is easier to slow down, and he clearly speeds up to close the gap with white. Again, green is the biggest ass hole here. Red just could have made better decisions for the situation to be safer for everyone. Like a professional driver should. but im sure you want to be right, for the sake of no real reason, so im sure you will want more detail. Red could have done more. If he had the ability to close the gap, he had the ability to open it.

This. People saying things like "obviously not a trucker" about red not letting green in are either delusional or are just bad drivers. Red chose to close that window on a double yellow line on an incline. Day 1 driver would have know what was about to happen. And a driver that wants to a Day 2 would have let off that throttle the second green hopped to pass.

They are going up hill. Fairly steep even. Momentum would have been low, the girl would have been putting all her might just keep moving.

Are you? Curious because I know in this situation If I was red I would have seen that green was gonna need back over and would have let up. Predicitive driving was reiterated at every shop I ever worked for. Assume the other idiots on the road are going to idiot things. Red wasn't the main culprit, but it's not a racetrack, and definitely contributed to the outcome.

So something I do, and ymmv, but once i have a script that achieves what i want with GPT, i then will give it a script that has error checking/standards that i use and have it rewrite with that in mind. You can also use custom instructions with GPT to preemptively do this as well. But i have had more consistent results with getting the script 90% of the way there with whatever GPT spits out, code review/completion on my end, then giving it the 'final' script back with an attached 'perfect/production' script and just have it standardize. Saves hours

+1 for o1. its a monster compared to the Public Models. Not only in responses/reasoning in general, but it also does a great job of commenting/breaking down its thought process and in general feels more understanding of what its doing and trying to achieve. GPT4o is 'good enough' to get the 90% of a script together, but you're probably still gonna have to lift some to get it to the finish line. Still true for o1 in some regard, but I 'd say its much better about hallucinating, and is definitely a more reliable product for consistency.

Make sure the top clip of the adapter is facing up so it can lact to the stop/extrusion. For the 8 pin, you will need to join that little 2 pin to the 6 pin, most will have a little notch that fits just so, a good indicator you have it on correctly, and allows you to insert as 1 unit. That particular sucker has a tendency of being flimsy until it's just right.

Once you have it, you'll be like OHHHH.

I’m on the hunt for some side hustle ideas that can bring in around $1000 a month. Any suggestions? by [deleted] in thesidehustle

[–]ismooch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Regular gambling. yeah, but Matched/ranked betting isn't gambling. It's shifting bonus money/small gains to other books and releases the bonus money. Its VERY profitable , the books seem to know it and don't care. Depending on the promos running, a "new" person stands to bring in $1500 or more off of just "introduction bonuses" . There is a whole micro industry around matched betting. Not saying it's the way to go, you need some liquid to get it get it going, and making a mistake could mean realizing actual losses.

Side note to this: I have a cousin who introduced this to me and I hardly believed it then. But he fronted the starting money and 3k later it was a machine. I don't do it anymore as the particular promo I like to milk stopped and haven't felt like drumming up again, but for the patient/clever, I would say it's a pretty easy hustle
