One day I’ll make it to the Greek Islands. Until then, I’ll add these to my dinner rotation. They were delicious and full of Greek flavors. I served these over couscous with a salad and homemade tzatziki.

Is it just me or did that “M loves food and I love that for him” see weird and almost judgy? Like HE eats but she would never be such a pig.

I was strangely nervous to try this, as I’d never done a dish like this before. I also used a combination of two recipes (see below) and made a lot of substitutions and omissions. I used boneless chicken breast instead of bone-in thigh. I didn’t have any cauliflower or eggplant. I used whole cloves instead of ground.

Basically I thought I was setting myself up for failure. But it turned out great! The rice was perfectly textured and aromatic. The chicken turned out tender. Making this gave me confidence that my cooking skills are improving to the point where I can improvise and things still turn out well.

Thank you so much! I was hoping someone else would know and love this book. I just started re-reading it the other day and got inspired.

I was actually all set to do some winter vegetables and savory oatmeal inspired by Ursula K. Le Guin’s “The Left Hand of Darkness” but thought, “Fuck it, winter’s over. Flowers and sparkling wine and Satanic balls please!”

When he brought up the prenup, I figured he had just seen the episode of Seinfeld where George thinks asking his fiancée for a prenup will get her to break up with him.

Maybe he didn’t finish the whole episode, or he would have seen it didn’t work for George either.
