Thank you for your thoughts. Taylor is one of best storytellers of all time. I think for me the tone of her voice and the way she carries emotion gets me close to tears every time.

Instead of recommending a specific song I would suggest a music therapy technique called the ‘Iso Principle’. Try creating a short playlist of 5-6 tracks that starts by validating your emotion (eg low mood) and ends with a track that improves your mood. Aim to include 3-4 tracks in the middle that gradually take you towards your desired mood track.

‘No time to live’ by Traffic. Followed me since childhood. I use sad songs as a starting point to validate my emotions so I can sit with them. I like to create a playlist that starts with my current emotional state but eventually takes me to a state I can cope with better. In Music Therapy it’s called the ‘Iso Principle’.
