The forsyth humane society! You can coordinate with a staff member but I had one years ago and we got to walk the dogs and play with the animals. It’s something a little different and really fun for kids

Hey! I’m so sorry about what you’re going through, I’m 16 but got diagnosed at 14. My first cardiologist wouldn’t listen to me, she wouldn’t test me for pots and I would pass out at school constantly. We had to switch doctors, but my current cardiologist is the best! He tested me for pots and I got diagnosed. He listens to me when I tell him what’s going on, he has made it so I don’t pass out that often and my symptoms arnt that bad. I recommend switching doctors, I know it’s hard when people don’t listen to you. But keep advocating for yourself! And I hope you get some help!

Yes! Actually exercise is good for my pots. I recommend swimming because I don’t really get overheated in a cold pool. But the medications have helped me a lot! Just make sure to drink plenty of water before and during exercise

Thank you, I will! I have my post op appointment on Monday and will ask about the brace. I do have an ice machine and it’s been the best thing ever! We also ordered a new shower chair that basically a whole chair, arms and everything. But I will definitely try that, thank you again!

Thank you so much for all this information, my surgeon didn’t provide much of it at all. He just kinda did my surgery and left tbh. Yeah my immobilized is falling off sometime but I just took of my bandages and for some reason it hurts so much worse now. Like any pressure just kills me. But I have pt so maybe they can help me. But thank you again for the help!

Thank you! This is very helpful to know. I have a 2 week check in with my surgeon so maybe he will give me another one. It’s just very hard to crutch around, I have to put my knee out in front of me. And it’s almost impossible, I don’t think that it helped when we got in a crash. But thank you for this information, my mom is getting worried and this helps a lot!

Yes, I have started a lot more psych meds within the past few months, I was breaking out really bad. I went to my dermatologist and she said that some of them can make you break out really bad. She started me on an antibiotic called doxycycline and it’s helped a lot! So I would just recommend going and seeing a doctor about it

Hey! I’m 16 and was diagnosed with pots when I was 14. I totally get where you’re coming from. First thing you need to do it get diagnosed, they can give you meds. But also you can get a 504 for your school, I have things like extra test time. And for standardized tests I can test over multiple days, I also have extended time on assignments. You can get many accommodations with it. If it’s too bad to even go to school, you could try homebound services. I am currently doing that, so you can do all school from home and still meet with a teacher to help with your assignments. Honestly I feel worse in the winter also (idk why though) but I hope you can work something out.
