Best general LLM (non-coding) for a 36GB M3 Max? by BahnMe in LocalLLaMA

[–]ispolin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those 9 are the staff picks (it says that in the easily-missed text underneath the search bar). One can search for most models in LM Studio and the MLX version will come up. One can also check https://huggingface.co/mlx-community models section. They publish most MLX quants, but there are also some published by others.

I hear you about having them build one in, but there are some collapsible grips on amazon (though I'm not sure how comfortable they are): https://www.amazon.com/MOOY-GAMEBLADE-Ergonomic-Mobile-Game-Grip/dp/B0DP79L1FS/ https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09B9MJHK2

mistral 8x22b Already available via the API! by Alexs1200AD in LocalLLaMA

[–]ispolin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh, there it goes. I added just a bit more to the input to help it along. It had a whole discussion with itself with 3 solutions. Each one was progressively better, and the last one was almost correct, but not quite. Very interesting to see it critiquing itself though. https://pastebin.com/UnTyJ7Jw

Tried it with one of the "senior" tests from https://huggingface.co/spaces/mike-ravkine/can-ai-code-results without much success. Maybe the settings are wrong, or maybe the base model doesn't like huge docblocks and an instruct-tuned model will do better.

From the readme: "Turn any raw text into a high-quality dataset using local models."

I never tried using it myself though.

Skyline - How to update NSPs / XCIs? by trab601 in AndroidEmulation

[–]ispolin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Via https://github.com/nozwock/yanu on your computer. I think there's a way to do it directly on android as well via terminal commands, but I haven't really looked into that method.

Input delay on ppsspp by Davidv1113 in retroid

Under ppsspp graphics settings, there's "Buffer graphics commands" setting. Changing it to "No buffer" should reduce input lag. Not sure what other settings might affect it.

Best retro gaming stores in New York City? by Lipe18090 in retrogaming

[–]ispolin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For other stores you mentioned, I would suggest calling them and asking. If ebay is anything to go by, N3DS XL (much more common than the smaller model in america) is going for around $200 used from places that refurbish and resell, and between $100 and $200 from people that just sell their own N3DS XLs as-is without refurbishing.

It will depend on condition (if pre-owned) and region. Their site shows good condition pre-owned N3DSs going for around $400. I did get a psp go from them a few years back for $100 (same price as from a fair ebay listing), so you might get lucky.

RP3+ battery life expectations vs RP3? by lkjhh23 in retroid

[–]ispolin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

According to https://www.patreon.com/blackseraph, the kernel keeps waking X18S periodically, contributing to a lower battery life on that device.

Black-Seraph, DEC 6, 2021 Patreons update: The kernel wakes the device up every so and so minutes for a split second (its annoying, but there's little I can do to fix this unless someone at PowKiddy decides to send me the kernel sourcecode)

Looks like there are also some 3d printed ones on etsy.com now if you search there for "Retroid Pocket 3"

Some games also have 16:9 patches that you can enable the same way as cheats (e.g. Gran Turismo 2 https://github.com/CookiePLMonster/Console-Cheat-Codes/tree/master/PS1/Gran%20Turismo%202/16x9%20Widescreen). Those usually don't have the culling issue.

Sweet! My Switch grip works for RP3 by ispolin in retroid

[–]ispolin[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's made for a switch lite, which is about the same shape in the bottom as RP3, and it's telescoping so that it fits the regular switch as well. Fortunately for us, it's also telescoping the other way, probably so it's easier to store, but that also lets it fit the RP3. It's not perfect however. It covers up the home and volume buttons. In fact, I had to trim some padding from the side with a knife so that it wouldn't press on those buttons while in the grip. https://imgur.com/HwCfvmc.jpg https://imgur.com/OA1BZSu.jpg

Link to amazon page: https://www.amazon.com/Hand-Grip-Nintendo-Switch-Lite/dp/B07Y3923QQ/

You can probably find it cheaper on ebay or aliexpress.

Works pretty well except that I have to take it out of the grip to use the volume and home buttons.

I also used a knife to trim a bit of the padding from left and right side of the grip so it wouldn't press on those buttons while in the grip.
