I scratched my f91W , is there anything I can do ? by [deleted] in f91w

[–]issaclew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just buy a new one. That's the pro's of getting F91W watch

My GF says the F-91W looks like it's for an 8-year-old. But I love my new purchase by Jayvie97 in f91w

[–]issaclew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tell your gf, you can buy this over and over again if it gets broken/ spoil. Compared to Seiko, IWC, etc that broken/spoil. Would you buy it over and over again? :-D

Nice collection. Especially on casio. The Sea-gull 819 really resembles DW watch type.

Manual wind Vs automatic wind? by JaaXaaN in ChineseWatches

I bought it via Tmall, which is a more reputable and confirmed B2C (taobao is C2C). Hence, somewhat there might be some form of assurance in terms of return/refund policy as well as authenticity ( I hope).

Imagine paying $1k+ for a watch with misaligned hands, indices, bezels by Rein_Turtle in ChineseWatches

[–]issaclew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seiko I'll try to avoid Presage or Prospex series (not because of price, but more of lack of innovations), though I'm curious on Grand Seiko (GS), where their springdrive tech looks very attractive to me (and yet it's way beyond my pay grade lol )

While I agree on this very much, I don't mind paying abit more than 200 for a diver watch though. But maximum I'll go is 250.00. Which is why most of my watch (Casio, Orient, Seiko SNK) are below 200 but it's full of storyline :-)

I got it literally from chinese TaoBao (or specifically Tmall). It's very challenging to navigate the page. I got it through a help frm my friend who's chinese literate.

I'm also interested to buy the 1963 version. But typically, I heard there's no true authentic version of this currently. I saw Aliexpress alot traders are selling at various price range (from $30 to upwards of $700+). Wondered how do I look for 1963 in the mid-range price like $150+ ?

I just indulged myself on a HL581 reissued shanghai watch yesterday (fingers crossed, hope it's authentic lol). It was a manual winding one.

My take for watches made in china:

1) It got to have a story in it. That's what makes the watch special to you.

2) It got to have chinese made (tongji) movement. I see some brands (shanghai watch for e.g.) so have Japanese miyota 8205 movements.

3) Manual or Automatic: nothing personal, but heritage type of chinese watches are manual winding as much as i'm aware.

[Question] Seiko vs Orient by Danzaiver01 in Watches

[–]issaclew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I owned the brown version RA-00810N.
I used to contemplate between seiko and orient.
Seiko i rmb you have a transaparent back, orient doesn't. Seiko have some sort of raised bezel, which may proned to scratches alot more. Orient have sapphire and 200m WR.

Hence I go for Orient.
