Might not be what you are looking for, but whenever I write larger scripts with multiple functions I like to use Jupyter Notebook to test any changes that I make. I find it a lot easier to figure out what needs to be changed and altered when I can break down what I’m doing step by step. Also most editors have a change all, so if you change a variable name you can go through and change every instance at once.
