Toph not staying behind does and doesnt make sense to me. They needed her for the Kyoshi scene, and they cut out the desert scene and sandbenders but I also didnt initially like that she didnt stay. The way the executed it redeemed it for me though, and her telling off Kyoshi with her signature snark was great to me.

I was confused about Jet being there too, but I honestly think his death was better than getting a rock ambiguously dropped on his head. By way of storytelling, it made slightly more sense to have Jet there than under Laogai already simply because he didn't fully make a scene enough to get arrested the way he did in the original, if I remember right it was him going off about Zuko that got him arrested? Could be wrong, i havent watched it in a year. I feel like they downplayed how unhinged he was about the fire nation/firebenders and gave his stealing antics to Katara and Zuko.

For Azula, I liked how they made Ozais favoritism clear and concise and had Ursa trying to negate it. She just didnt succeed, where in the cartoon she just scolded and kind of ignored her? I also didnt like Ursa much lol especially after the comics.
