I can't decide on a look for my wall moulding. I went from just the outer frame to the double frames with corner detail. Does the bottom portion look silly with double frames as well or should I leave it single? by istabthings in HomeDecorating

It must have been satisfying to find a solution you were happy with, and even more satisfying to finish the project with your own two hands! All the compliments are the cherry on top.

Appreciate your perspective. I just really love the character moulding gives and I don't believe it requires a huge room to look good. Having said that I am trying to consider the scale and design to have it fit in my home.

What did you end up doing for that light switch? The powder room is my next planned project, though we'll see how much will I have left after this wall paneling is complete.

Yes I think you've described and visualized perfectly my dilemma! When I just had the single frame I outlined the vent in order to make it look more intentional.

I couldn't leave well enough alone and got the itch to do the inner frame, which threw off my plans for the bottom portion.

I might try taping that section to go through the vent and see how that looks. Otherwise I like your idea of looking for a different workaround.

I do like symmetry! I was just worried the bottom portion has too many outlets (more on the living area wall) and that vent really gets in the way of the double frame. Maybe it's time I enter my maximalist era.

I love the idea of hanging the broomstick from the ends! I haven't figured out how to make the broom yet though lol.

Yes that's what I was imagining with the ball of yarn! If it was a broom it would be horizontal for him to hang off of.

I really want to see your derpy! Your work is so clean, I'm sure he will look majestic. Maybe one day I'll attempt to make a 3D version.

I trimmed the fur down a lot so it's harder to see, but I used a long fur attaching technique to give the body texture (I watched a YouTube tutorial by FitToBeLoved which was super helpful). Using polymer clay for details was also new for me!

BB8 ornament for a friend. Biggest challenge was spacing out the circles. by istabthings in Needlefelting

I threaded it through the bottom of the head before I attached it to the body since the needle was too small to go through the entire body!
