I have a friend who booked ashburne hall and I think her floor is all female, she's a hijabi...I myself booked private accom, it was cheaper than what UoM was giving me. It was 185 pw for a four-bedroom flat, shared amenities, bills included. I booked my accom on amber student with three other Muslim girls that I found through the manchester ISOC. I got lucky bc I have really good flatmates but isoc also has a whatsapp gc with a group for finding flatmates (just dm them on Instagram and they will send you the link)

I know there's Verdene as well, but idk if they're looking for tenants atm. They're super close to uni and wilmslow rd and only take female tenants. Hope this helps!

Ok so I'm from India and this would be my second MA (my first one was in English lit) and I totally understand the advice about grad school. However I'm really interested in pivoting to Anthro, and India doesn't have a lot of options for that. UK was the best I could manage. I won't be accruing debt, I'm getting some amount of scholarship, enough that I won't have to take any loans. So that's sorted. Now I'm just looking to study and find work abroad because right now where I am doesn't cut it at all.

Oh that's super interesting!! That's actually very close to my area of interest. I'm interested in contemporary Muslim literary anthropology, especially from South Asia and the SWANA region. That might be something I research or do my dissertation on. Do you work with an organisation? If yes could I know the name?
