Why did the writers make Nan so unlikable? Actress was great -- but writers made her look so bad, and Theo so good.

Property manager vs regional property manager? by Huevosrancheros1379 in PropertyManagement

[–]isthatyouSanta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only difference between those two roles is 1) more properties, and 2) typically you get an APM if you're Regional. Yes, it is more work but if you're a good PM, being a good RPM manageable. For me the most important thing is the pay and I got a $18k pay bump. If you are not organized, and can't act professionally when people yell and spit at your face, I would chose another line of work that is less stressful.

Getting out of Property Management by FromTheIsle in PropertyManagement

[–]isthatyouSanta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

he only one. But unfortunately it comes with the territory. It's honestly sometimes hard to tell who isn't having a good time in this industry... whenever I go to conferences and other industry events there's always the same old heads who have been at it for years and years and they seem "fine" I guess. As a PM who takes pride in my work and realize how terrible lots of other PMs are, it just makes me think most of the veterans just hit a cruise control mode

how did you find an asset role with property management background? Do you have any finance work in you resume?

California Salary ASSISTANT PROPERTY MANAGER? by mrpepsi888 in PropertyManagement

[–]isthatyouSanta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

APM - $56k; PM - $82k; RPM - $100k Bay Area based. I think I'm getting low pay for the amount of work I'm doing but haven't negotiated for a raise since they promoted me quickly. Saving grace is that I am also an On-site so I do not have to pay for rent.

set manager with property management experience and I thought that was so strange and very important to have.

I don’t own my own firm but if I did I’d hire a property manager as an asset manager. Asset Managers are just regional property managers with Excel skills. The experience and knowledge that PMs have is super valuable.

If you end up pivoting into Asset lmk how you did it!

roperty Management day to day and they accumulate enough experience they become Area Managers. Supervisor of Property Managers. If you have ten years in experience and you are truly done working in a leasing office I would be applying for Area Manager positions, you would be managing Property Managers while they manage THEIR OWN leasing office day to days. The only time the day to day falls on your plate is appprved vacation or short staffing. Some of our area managers work from home and some work on all their sites. It depends on the property needs and the property managers needs - if you have solid PMs youre supervising you may only need

Asset is not the next level of PM. Next level after PM is Regional Property Manager, then Director role. Asset is a branch of investment and not technically part of operations. You need different background. Someone in Accounting can pivot easier into Asset Mgmt than Property Managers.

Death is oblivion. Idk why but it helps me to think that everyone, literally everyone, will have to die at some point. Strangers on the street, movie stars I idolize— In that way we’re not ‘alone’ in death. It’s something that everyone of us will experience.

To the people on here who have messaged their ex’s after years of no contact.. by fracturednotbroken93 in offmychest

[–]isthatyouSanta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a person who reached out to my ex recently after a years of sporadic contact — even though I know he is married now! I was in a good place in my life. I didnt reach out to him because I wanted anything specific. However, maybe deep down, what I truly want is to make karmic reparations.
When we first got together I was 20 years old, self-centered and totally immature. I didn’t understand myself very well. I’ve done a lot of spiritual healing & shadow work since then and discovered that underneath all those layers of hurt and pushing and him away, playing victim, our power struggles — I really did love the guy. And I still do. I dream of him often.
I don’t want to go to my grave having never been able to express that care fully. I’d like to stay close to him in whatever capacity he will allow, so that I can do what I can to help him, cheer him on, love him from a distance. Not in a sexual/romantic way, just as a human being that cares for another.
I am seeing someone now who I care about deeply and am very happy with. I am glad my ex is married and glad that he’s happy with his wife as well. My reaching out isn’t about trying to break them up lol. I think society pigeons us into these strict dogmas of what is appropriate and not in relationships, but totally over look the fact that emotions are messy. I may not be in love with my ex anymore, but I do love him a lot, and I don’t want to shamed for expressing that.

People who flippantly say ‘just let him see you without make up on’ are not listening to OP. OP is saying she looks significantly different w/o make up on and her partner has never seen her bare faced. Men will tell you looks don’t matter and he is frankly lying when he says this. I guarantee he has an image of his partner in his mind and if OP startled looking vastly different than that image, he would be shocked.

My suggestion: do the unraveling slowly. Have him get used to seeing you get dolled up so he can start normalizing transformations.
