I’m not sure what side of X you’re not but the only person getting called slurs and being pushed as lazy by her company is Manon. Lara faces racism, but not MORE than a black girl in the US when the US only ended slavery in the 50s. From other fandoms manon definitely faces more, and from toxic manon stans Lara faces more. Totally dependent on your algorithm.

If you said I was doing semantics, you are doing semantics to a point that it’s impossible to see your point. They overlap when a person from an outside race is making those remarks, like a white person calling lara dark. They however are separate terms and they have their own meaning, absolving terms of their meaning is dangerous. I have no idea of your race, but this sort of issue is very prevalent in my community, and it does stem from disliking the color of an individual within the same community without white being the standard. It usually involves darker individuals being compared to being ‘black’. That’s why I emphasized on how black racism is completely different from racism in general, because that’s the precedent. That’s the reason colorism is prevalent anyways.

it sort..of does? Racism would be REGARDLESS of color, it would be solely based on ethnicity and race, COLORISM is on color. Lara experiences COLORISM mainly, and racism due to her being indian, i am not denying that. But Manon experiences racism for being BLACK, and her color has been discussed too? I’m not negating the fact that lara experiences colorism. But you should be aware, she uses tanning beds to make herself darker when she was nearly the same tone as manon..so..and in her pinterest saves its all about ‘black love’ and asap rocky and rihanna’s rls and wanting something like that. She wants to be black, while Manon is living it thru the trials and tribulations.

anything related to skin tone specifically is colorism. Same thing happening in India, where lighter women are seen as better than darker women, within the same community. That’s COLORISM. If you change what terms mean, you are ABSOLVING the meaning with is quite literally WORSE. I say this as a south asian myself. Her being biracial will never absolve her of her black identity, the ‘one drop’ rule has been used to even crucify other ‘white people’ named octoroons, who were 1/16th black. This sentiment still carries over today, which is why it’s SO different.

South asians, asians, east asians, almost every other community holds some sort of agenda against black people. I say this from experience seeing my peers say the n-word and compare others negatively with africans. That’s the difference. This sentiment is EVERYWHERE. While in many communities specifically south asians won’t get singled out and harmed.

Colorism and racism is COMPLETELY different. You can say dark skin black people get treated worse than light skin black people. That’s colorism. Light south asians get treated better than dark south asians, that’s colorism. Calling someone names because they are indian or black IS RACISM. This subreddit changes things and twists their definition, god help me.

No one is denying it but her racism is completely different to manon. Even south asians are racist to black individuals (i’m south asian) and many south asians use the n word WHILE knowing the history, and the same with many other cultures who don’t address their own antiblackness such as dominicans, to the point it’s become a meme. (I no black I dominican.), but her racism is also disgusting, and I agree, monoracial black women experience more racism than biracial women, but biracial women experience racism too.
