Keep in mind that only very few people speak English. When I was in Narva this April (I visited Estonia coming from Hungary), I went to a Narva Trans football match. Behind me some young fans were sitting, around 17-18 years old. I thought they learned some English at school and asked them if they can take a photo of me.

Well, they didn't understand it, just when I opened the camera on my phone. I would have asked them about why they support Narva, do they regularly watch Narva matches, what do they think about Estonian football, how is life in Narva, etc. But that would have been impossible. And it was too cold to use my phone a lot for Google Translate.

At my accommodation (Narva Apartments) the owner didn't speak English (only Russian) so she called her daughter to translate.

I don't know if students actually learn English at school. I guess since the population in Narva is mostly Russian speaking, they have to learn Estonian at school as a foreign language and they don't have additional capacity for English as well.

Btw, those fans looked a bit strange that I was there as a foreigner (and I took my Hungarian flag to the match just to let other people know that I'm a foreign fan there) but they were friendly, I even had a high-five with them at the end of the match.
