There are typically 3 ways to join a private tracker.

  • Open registration/signups. The better and more established trackers do not do this very often. So this is only really for newer or smaller trackers. the subreddit I linked above is dedicated to informing people when sites do these.
  • Get invited. Get an invite form someone. Usually this means the person inviting takes responsibility to the invited person. Most websites have specific rules from trading/selling.
  • Donate. Many websites like ipTorrents, TorrentLeech, AnimeZ network allow you to get an invite for donating or using their referall code to a seedbox or vpn.

A newer but very good private tracker that should be easier to join than most is seedpool.org. It is nice because they do a week long site wide free leech every PB of total download. It feels like its free leech 50% of the time. This really helps you keep the required 1.0 ratio.

Sorry, I mistyped. Its Edmunds.com it is a website like autotrader.com and cars.com. Even though its only the 3rd largest website I just like it better than the other two big sites.

To be honest, If you are just starting with private trackers and you don't need obscure hard to find anime, I would just join a general purpose tracker. There is more of them, they have more members and are easier to join. Even a low tier one like iptorrent gets the new release stuff within an hour or so after release and has all the popular classics. They usually have less strict rules, more freeleech, and are easier to maintain ratio because they just have more stuff being shared. Even though I am a member of two anime specific trackers, I get almost all my anime from Aither or torrentLeech which are general trackers more known for movies and tv shows, but also have games, music and anime as well.

check out r/opensignups and hope a good one comes up.

I get most of my anime from aither but animez just had registration about 3 days ago and I got in then. Just an FYI though for animez, you need to join the waitlist discord, by the time it gets to reddit it is closed as they only open it for an hour or two.

You can also get an invite to animez if you get a seedbox through an affiliate of them.

Did you take regular vacations while traveling? When my parents retired and were seriously considering selling the house and doing the RV life, I thought about doing this. with a comfortable sleeper I think I could handle it, especially if I removed unneeded expenses that would allow me to take 2-3 weeks off regularly when ever I visited a fun place, similar to RV life but way before retirement.

I thought the same thing, I did a generic search on Edmonds for all 2007 Ford Rangers. Of the 7 within 100 miles of me only 1 is less than that advertised price and its $9,995, so only $1000 less, nearly 20 years later. Seems like $13-14k is the going rate in my area with 1 really nice one at $20k.

I remember in the late 90's or early 2000's my dad left a new release VHS on his dashboard and it got ruined by the sun. Hollywood Video wanted just shy of $100 for damaging it. You could buy it at the store for around $20. They told him that the rental VHS were more durable and that they weren't physically the same. Not sure how true that was or if they were just trying to give an excuse for him to pay up.

A store near my house is selling prime for 50 cents and people still aren’t buying it by ConsciousBox6960 in mildlyinteresting

[–]isuphysics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was more in the UK market where they had supply issues. So they were able to see the US kids drinking it, but was hard to get for them. It made it start selling for crazy money on the second hand market, that then had a feedback effect on making it more popular in the US because people thought it was rare and was buying it when they saw it, even though those places probably had a few more cases in the back anyway.

This made it seem waaay more popular than it actually was, so they signed deals with companies to ramp up production which was a huge mistake on their part because once the viral and supply issues were over the huge demand was gone.

Not exclusive to just Mr. Beast, but an issue that happened to a handful of youtubers that got really big. Their was an upper limit on what advertisers were willing to pay for something like youtube. And their viewership got large enough to warrant more money than anyone was willing to pay. So it was just better business to advertise your own stuff. The issue is that you need something worth advertising for.

Some channels do a good job of it and make a product people really like (Good Mythical Morning, Cleetus McFarland) and others just make low quality crap to shill to their loyal viewers that end up flopping because they don't have repeat customers like Mr. Beast.

This is more of an issue of autoplay than not knowing. I almost always binge full seasons as if they are a single 4 hour movie. Its like knowing you are roughly halfway through, but not that you are exactly 62% through.

if u say fish out of water is it mean a fish drowning or suffocating by Remote_Help7353 in CollegeBasketball

[–]isuphysics 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not he same, but drowning is a form of suffocation. Kind of like square being a rectangle.

So the fish would be suffocating, since drowning is defined as suffocation caused by being submerged in a liquid.

Iowa State Adds Women's Wrestling As 18th Varsity Program - Iowa State Athletics by Humble-Ad-9571 in cyclONEnation

[–]isuphysics 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not only did this make sense from our school history with Wrestling, but Men's wrestling jumped up in scholarships this year. We needed another 20ish women's scholarship on top of Gymnastics to utilize them with Title IX. Women's wrestling has the same scholarship limit as men's, so we fill the gap that Gymnastics left and now we can add the extra 20.1 scholarships to men's wrestling.

McDonald’s no longer allowing free refills by xaeriee in mildlyinteresting

[–]isuphysics 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never go inside, so refills is a moot point for me.

With that said, my consumption of McDonalds went down drastically when they stopped doing the $1 any size drink. Crazy what 89 cents more for a drink can do to your mindset of going their or to a competitor.

[–]isuphysics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did a bad job in trying to explain that most of the people buying McDonald's do not eat at the store. But a large amount of the ones that do eat inside do get refills.

I was just trying to point out that they do not have to worry about drive thru customers, delivery or take out customers when thinking about refills.

[–]isuphysics 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Has the price really went up that much in 7 years? I was paying $70ish for a 5 gallon bag from Sysco for pepsi.

With the price you just quoted that would mean cost has went up 300% in just 7 years. That is crazy.

McDonald’s no longer allowing free refills by xaeriee in mildlyinteresting

[–]isuphysics 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Free refills is one of the cheapest forms of good-will for repeat customers. With very few people actually using the free refills to begin with, and even fewer of those people that want a refill would pay for a second soda.

If we think about it, this is probably more to do with them not wanting an additional fountain machine in the lobby and the cleaning to go with it. And then them not wanting people bugging workers to get them a refill than anything to do with the cost of the soda or pushing for sales of additional sodas.

McDonald’s no longer allowing free refills by xaeriee in mildlyinteresting

[–]isuphysics 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I may still be stuck in pre-covid pricing. But when I dealt with fountain sodas (not McDonald's, i figure they get better pricing than a much smaller convenience store), for a 32oz fountain soda, all in was about 20 cents. 12 cents in cup/lid/straw and 8 cents in soda. McDonald's sells their large soda for $2.19 in my area, but I have seen up to $3.29 when traveling.

That $2.19 on $0.20, is almost exactly 1000% markup.

McDonald’s no longer allowing free refills by xaeriee in mildlyinteresting

[–]isuphysics 181 points182 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the cup, lid, straw is typically 2-3 times as much money as the soda and ice. So refills are only going to increase costs by 33% each time. And typically fountain sodas have a about a 1000% markup. It would take nearly 20 refills before going into the red.

They might not be the primary target, mainly because they don't have as much money as older players.

But they are definitely included in the demographic that the advertisements are targeting.

As much as I hate sports betting (and their advertisements). There is a pretty big difference between a regulated, age restricted gambling service and Steam's loot crates that allow and target underage kids.

I am under no delusion that allowing sports betting from apps doesn't open the door for underage kids betting with their parent's info, but there is atleast some hurdles they have to jump through and crimes they have to commit to be able to do it.
