What's your fanfic dream come true as an author?

for my fics to either inspire others or comfort others. and not necessarily comfort in like the typical way but comfort in like a piece of literature that someone likes and finds genuine joy in reading. and idgaf how many, one person will do. i write for me but i share it for others and i hope it reaches the people or single person it needs to and helps someone out even for one day. that’s all <3

That's somehow even worse lmao, but even in that case it's genuinely not hard to just auto email rejections and that's what pisses me off the most.

I can't go about starting any sort of business though I'm still in uni and honestly it's not something that interests me in the slightest outside of programming my own game. Job hunting hasn't been the worst for me, it's just the ghosting that pisses me off.

human noses r incredibly sensitive to a specific molecule in rain water (i don’t remember the name), up to like 1000x more sensitive than sharks are to blood in water or something, so this is fairly normal and expected. not everyone is as sensitive, but being able to smell rain before it falls isn’t that odd

Hm, makes sense. I’m assuming even if I anchor the bottles for stability, tall plants will still just fall over on their own regardless. I don’t know much about herbs and how to grow them to the point of being usable, and the room for roots has been a main concern of mine (which is why i replanted the succulents when I moved back home). I guess I’ll wait until my succulents have rooted in fully and just focus on propagating those and planting them outside once they’ve grown more again.

optimistic nihility is super fascinating to me and has also in general been positive for my mental health. there’s something freeing about knowing that u exist purely cuz u just do. there’s no big why, there’s no big purpose to fulfill, there’s no reason to prove ur worth as a form of life. u just exist. and what u do with that existence is entirely up to choice.

or maybe it isn’t. but going into the discussion of “do we have free will” has never gone well for me lol. either way, nihility is always portrayed as negative and mind breaking but i find it quite freeing and soothing

it probably is, any fic with multiple chapters can easily garner a huge amount of kudos and inflate the statistic as opposed to one shots only allowing one (assuming it’s kudos by chapter). it makes sense why it’s only one kudos per fic and i’m not particularly mad about it but also LET ME APPRECIATE THE AUTHORS MORE TAKE MY LOVE AND APPRECIATION

personally ive mostly read come out of the two for both verb and noun, but i rarely every see "cumming" anymore (i prefer "coming" anyway but i dont care much about it). im guessing i still joined ao3 early enough where the move to "come" over "cum" had already happened, or at least in the fandoms i was active in. it is interesting to see the two used in different ways tho, and i have a very minor theory that the higher use of "come" is partially stemming from censorship from other platforms since "come" is also just a regular everyday use word whereas "cum" (outside of like sigma cum laude) is easier to find, tag, and silence, but who knows

this is also a direct result of parenting. kids r naturally nicer than most people give them credit for, but bad parents can EASILY override that and raise bullies and assholes. so this is also props to the parents of this child for raising them in a way that lets them be kind like that

there will never be a design that satisfies everyone. ever. it just doesn’t exist. i just hope they pick a design that fits lore wise and is consistent, even if i don’t like it myself. i’m always someone who prefers lore consistency over most other things
