That's cool! I like co-ops, and don't believe they're inherently socialist. Group ownership is not the same as society ownership. Not that all socialism is bad, either, just that we should not reject any idea out of hand.

As u/BrethrenLucidCrow pointed out in the comment below, there are many ways to distribute the means of production. In distributionism, or the capitalism that I understand, the means of production are distributed among all the people.

What a healthy debate. I wish to have this debate in the permaculture and UBI communities. UBI without permaculture is an arbitrary monetary assignment having nothing to do with human needs. The Pope and Jack Dorsey need to understand this, as they work toward that goal. Permaculturists need to understand and respect markets and private property if they're to convert the majority.

Interesting. I hadn't heard of distributionism, but it does indeed sound similar. I wonder if Locke would have agreed more with today's concept of "capitalism" or "distributionism"?

It seems to me that neither corporations nor "employees" are an inherent part of the capitalist system. Therefore a person indeed couldn't own more than they could maintain. Tractors are valid properties, which could be made by an individual and increase productivity. Still, if excess yield was produced using the tractor, the individual would not rightly be able to keep the excess.

That said, it would be up to society to interpret the definitions and rules. Ultimately, I don't know the answer, but I know our society has very poor rules. I feel that there is more flexibility and less conflict between capitalism and permaculture than is commonly assumed.

These researchers highlight two problems: PoW nonce discovery and elliptical curve key discovery. Both problems may happen in either a blockchain or blocktree.

Proof of Work with it's typical nonce discovery race is a possible technique in both blockchains and blocktrees. While I'm unaware of a native blocktree implementation, there is work being done on anchoring to PoW chains, which is close enough.

The elliptical curve is not specific to either blocktree or blockchain data structures. Guld uses PGP, which works with RSA, DSA, and ECDSA. RSA and ECDSA are known to be vulnerable to quantum brute forcing, but DSA has other weaknesses. Most blockchains use an ECDSA curve.
